Abstract
This study aims to determine parents' understanding of the importance of early childhood character building, the form of roles performed, and the challenges faced in balancing career and childcare in Griya Permata Asri Complex, Serang City. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects were parents who have early childhood in the neighborhood. The results showed that most parents understand the importance of character building as a basis in shaping children's personalities who are responsible, honest, and polite. This understanding is reflected in the way parents instill moral values such as honesty, responsibility, and good habits through exemplary, habituation, and good communication. The role of parents in shaping character is done through exemplary methods, habituation, giving advice, and intensive attention and supervision. However, the challenges faced by parents are quite diverse, especially in terms of limited time due to work demands, the impact of inconsistent parenting, and the strong influence of the environment and digital technology on children's behavior.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman orang tua mengenai pentingnya pembentukan karakter anak usia dini, bentuk peran yang dilakukan, serta tantangan yang dihadapi dalam menyaimbangkan antara karir dan pengasuhan anak di Komplek Griya Permata Asri, Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini di lingkungan tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar orang tua memahami pentingnya pembentukan karakter sebagai dasar dalam membentuk pribadi anak yang bertanggung jawab, jujur, dan sopan santun. Pemahaman ini tercermin dalam cara orang tua menanmkan nilai nilai moral seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, dan kebiasaan baik melalui keteladanan, pembiasan, dan komunikasi yang baik. Bentuk peran orang tua dalam membentuk karakter dilakukan melalui metode keteladanan, pembiasaan, pemberian nasihat, serta perhatian dan pengawasan secara intensif. Namun, tantangan yang dihadapi orang tua cukup beragam, terutama dalam hal keterbatasan waktu akibat tuntutan pekerjaan, dampak pola asuh yang tidak konsisten, serta pengaruh lingkungan dan teknologi digital yang kuat terhadap perilaku anak. | |||||||||
