Abstract
This research was aimed to know the response of expired red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) seed viability and vegetative growth to various concentrations of young coconut water and soaking durations. The research was conducted from July until September 2024 located in the Greenhouse on the 4th floor of the Faculty of Agriculture Laboratory, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The research was conducted using a Randomized Completely Design (RCD) with two factors. The first factor was the concentration of young coconut water at four levels: K1 (5%), K2 (15)%, K3 (25%), and K4 (35%). The second factor was soaking duration with three levels: W1 (4 hours), W2 (6 hours), and W3 (8 hours). The combination of the two factors was repeated three times, so that 36 experimental units were obtained. The results showed that at 35% concentration, young coconut water (K4) had the most significant effect on the number of leaves. Soaking duration of 8 hours (W3) tends to have a better effect on percentage of germination (83.33%), percentage of maximum growth potential (86.66%), percentage of dead seeds (1.63%), plant height (5.10cm), and number of leaves (3.25 strands). However, the interaction between the coconut water concentration and soaking duration only found on the number of leaves parameter.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons viabilitas benih cabai merah (Capsicum annuum L.) kedaluwarsa dan pertumbuhan vegetatif terhadap tingkat konsentrasi air kelapa dan lama perendaman. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai September 2024 yang berlokasi di Greenhouse lantai 4 Laboratorium Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi air kelapa muda yang terdiri atas empat taraf: K1 (5%), K2 (15)%, K3 (25%), dan K4 (35%). Faktor kedua adalah lama perendaman yang terdiri atas tiga taraf: W1 (4 jam), W2 (6 jam), and W3 (8 jam). Kombinasi kedua faktor tersebut diulang sebanyak 3 kali, sehingga diperoleh 36 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi air kelapa muda 35% memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap parameter jumlah daun (3,34 helai). Lama perendaman 8 jam cenderung memberikan pengaruh lebih baik terhadap persentase daya kecambah (83,33%), persentase potensi tumbuh maksimum (86,66%), persentase benih mati (1,63%), tinggi tanaman (5,10 cm), jumlah daun (3,25 helai). Terdapat interaksi antara konsentrasi air kelapa muda dan lama perendaman hanya pada parameter jumlah daun. | |||||||||
