Abstract
Background: Effective communication between nurses and patients in healthcare settings is crucial for information delivery. One factor that can influence nurses' communication abilities is job stress. The results of a survey conducted by the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) in 2015 showed that job stress among nurses was around 51%. Job stress leads to difficulties in concentration, impacting nurses' communication abilities and affecting healthcare delivery. This study aims to investigate the relationship between the prevalence of stress due to workload among nurses in the inpatient ward and their communication abilities with patients at RSUD Banten in 2024. Method: The research design is cross-sectional with purposive sampling method. The population in this study consisted of 118 individuals who completed the stress occupancy rate questionnaire and therapeutic communication questionnaire. Results: It was found that 4 respondents (2.25%) experienced job stress with poor communication, while 104 respondents (88.1%) experiencing job stress had good communication. Respondents who were not experiencing job stress with good communication were 10 respondents (8.8%), and those with poor communication were 1 respondent (0.8%), as wellas the p value = 0,328. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between job stress and the communication abilities of nurses to patients in the inpatient ward of RSUD Banten in 2024.

| Additional Information: | Latar Belakang: Kemampuan komunikasi yang efektif antara perawat dan pasien di lingkungan kesehatan sangat penting untuk penyampaian informasi. Salah satu faktor yang dapat memengaruhi kemampuan komunikasi para perawat adalah stres kerja. Hasil survey yang dilakukan oleh PPNI (Persatuan Perawat Nasional Indonesia) 2015, stres kerja pada perawat sekitar 51%. Stres kerja mengakibatkan kesulitan berkonsentrasi yang berdampak pada kemampuan komunikasi perawat dan mempengaruhi pelayanan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara prevalensi stres akibat beban kerja yang dialami para perawat di instalasi rawat inap dengan kemampuan komunikasinya kepada pasien di RSUD Banten 2024. Metode: Desain penelitian ini adalah cross sectional dengan metode purposive sampling. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 118 orang dengan mengisi kuesioner stress occupancy rate dan kuesioner komunikasi terapeutik. Hasil penelitian: Didapatkan bahwa 4 responden (2,25%) stres kerja dengan komunikasi buruk dan 104 responden (88,1%) dengan stres kerja, memiliki komunikasi baik. Responden tanpa stres kerja dengan komunikasi baik sebanyak 10 responden (8,8%) dan yang memiliki komunikasi buruk sebanyak 1 responden (0,8%) serta nilai P value = 0,328. Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara stres kerja dengan kemampuan komunikasi para perawat kepada pasien di instalasi rawat inap RSUD Banten tahun 2024. | |||||||||
