Abstract
This research is motivated by issues related to gross motor development in children with Asperger's syndrome, who tend to experience difficulties in movement coordination and body balance. Limited gross motor skills can affect children's daily activities and learning processes at school. To address this, this study aims to determine the effect of rhythmic gymnastics therapy on improving the gross motor skills of children with autism. This research employs a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design, using total sampling techniques and subjects being children with Asperger's syndrome at SKh Darmawati Arief. Rhythmic gymnastics therapy was provided over 16 sessions. The data analysis method used the Paired Sample t-test to observe the differences between pretest and posttest scores. The results of the analysis indicate a significant increase with a significance value (sig. 2-tailed) = 0.000 (< 0.05). The average score for gross motor skills increased from 21.50 at the pretest to 35.30 at the posttest, with a difference of 12.00. The average effect of the treatment at 13.800 shows the effectiveness of rhythmic exercise therapy in improving gross motor skills, particularly in eye-hand coordination and balance. Thus, this study concludes that rhythmic exercise therapy can be used as an effective form of intervention to help improve gross motor skills in children with autism and can be implemented in learning programs in special schools or centers for children with special needs.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan perkembangan motorik kasar pada anak dengan autisme syndrome asperger, yang cenderung mengalami kesulitan dalam koordinasi gerak dan keseimbangan tubuh. Kemampuan motorik kasar yang terbatas dapat memengaruhi aktivitas sehari-hari serta proses pembelajaran anak di sekolah. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh terapi senam irama terhadap peningkatan kemampuan motorik kasar anak autisme. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre-eksperimental one group pretest-posttest, dengan teknik total sampling dan subjek anak autisme syndrome asperger di SKh Darmawati Arief. Terapi senam irama diberikan sebanyak 16 kali pertemuan. Metode analisis data menggunakan uji Paired Sample t-test untuk melihat perbedaan antara nilai pretest dan posttest. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dengan nilai signifikansi (sig. 2-tailed) = 0.000 (< 0.05). Rata-rata skor kemampuan motorik kasar meningkat dari 21.50 pada saat pretest menjadi 35.30 pada posttest, dengan selisih 12.00. Rata-rata pengaruh perlakuan sebesar 13.800 menunjukkan efektivitas terapi senam irama dalam meningkatkan motorik kasar, khususnya koordinasi mata-tangan dan keseimbangan. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terapi senam irama dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu bentuk intervensi yang efektif untuk membantu meningkatkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak autisme, dan dapat diimplementasikan dalam program pembelajaran di sekolah luar biasa atau pusat layanan terapi anak berkebutuhan khusus. | |||||||||
