Abstract

Fluctuations in fruit demand in Serang City reflect the dynamics of community consumption. Although awareness of the importance of fruit consumption post-pandemic and national fruit production has increased, public consumption is still low, indicating a gap between fruit availability and demand. This study aims to analyze the influence of perceived fruit prices, prices of other daily goods, household income, and number of family members on the amount of fruit purchases in Serang Subdistrict. The method used is descriptive quantitative with 100 respondents through Convenience sampling, analyzed by validity, reliability, classical assumptions, and multiple linear regression tests. Results show that fruit price perception (X₁) and household income (X₃) significantly influence fruit purchase quantity, while prices of daily necessities (X₂) and family size (X₄) show no significant effects. Collectively, all four variabels explain 41.2% of the variance in fruit purchasing behavior while the remaining 58.8% is attributed to other factors not examined in this study.
