Abstract
BACKGROUND Exclusive breastfeeding is the provision of breast milk without additional food or drink, including water, for six months. Exclusive breastfeeding plays an important role in supporting optimal growth and development of infants, which reduces the likelihood of stunting. Banten Province's Health Profile in 2023 showed the lowest percentage was in Serang District at 61%. With the target number set by the government of 80%. One of the factors that contribute to exclusive breastfeeding is knowledge and education level. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge about breastfeeding and mother's education level with exclusive breastfeeding at the Posyandu in Bojonegara Village, Serang Regency. METHODS This study used observational analytic method with cross sectional approach. Respondents in the study were 44 breastfeeding mothers who had babies aged 6-24 months who were selected through consecutive sampling method. RESULTS In the results of the study, mothers with good knowledge category 36.4%, less 34.1% and enough 29.5%. Mothers with secondary education amounted to 38.6%, primary education 34.1% and higher education 27.3%. Then, mothers who exclusively breastfed 54.5% and those who did not exclusively breastfed 45.5%. Knowledge about breastfeeding was significantly associated with exclusive breastfeeding (p-value = 0.004). Education level did not show a significant association with breastfeeding (p-value = 0.126). CONCLUSIONS Knowledge was significantly associated with exclusive breastfeeding but there was no association between education level and exclusive breastfeeding.

| Additional Information: | LATAR BELAKANG ASI eksklusif adalah pemberian ASI tanpa tambahan makanan atau minuman lain, termasuk air putih, selama enam bulan. Pemberian ASI eksklusif memiliki peranan penting dalam mendukung tumbuh kembang optimal bayi, yang menurunkan kemungkinan terjadinya stunting. Profil Kesehatan Provinsi Banten tahun 2023 menunjukkan persentase terendah terdapat di Kabupaten Serang sebesar 61%. Dengan angka target yang ditetapkan pemerintah sebesar 80%. Salah satu faktor yang berkontibusi dalam pemberian ASI eksklusif adalah pengetahuan dan tingkat pendidikan. Oleh karna itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pengetahuan tentang menyusui dan tingkat pendidikan ibu dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Posyandu Desa Bojonegara, Kabupaten Serang. METODE Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Responden pada penelitian adalah ibu menyusui yang memiliki bayi usia 6-24 bulan sebanyak 44 yang dipilih melalui metode consecutive sampling. HASIL Pada hasil penelitian, ibu dengan pengetahuan kategori baik 36,4%, kurang 34,1% dan cukup 29,5%. Ibu dengan pendidikan tingkat menengah sebesar 38,6%, pendidikan dasar 34,1% dan pendidikan tinggi 27,3%. Lalu, ibu yang memberikan ASI eksklusif 54,5% dan yang tidak ASI eksklusif 45,5%. Pengetahuan mengenai menyusui berhubungan signifikan dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif (p-value = 0,004). Tingkat pendidikan tidak menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan dengan pemberian ASI (p-value = 0,126) KESIMPULAN Pengetahuan berhubungan signifikan dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif akan tetapi, tidak terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pendidikan dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif . | |||||||||
