Abstract

The problem of food waste has become a global issue that has a significant impact on social, economic and environmental aspects. At Untirta Sindangsari campus, students have an active role in creating a clean and healthy campus environment. However, there are still students who do not finish their food and litter food waste. Problem identification, How is the role of Untirta students in reducing food waste to implement the 12th Sustainable Development Goals, Responsible Consumption and Production in the Sindangsari campus environment based on Law Number 18 of 2008 concerning Waste Management? What are the obstacles faced by Untirta students in reducing food waste? Theories used are Environmental Management Theory and Community Participation Theory. The research method is empirical juridical, the research specification uses descriptive analysis, the data source is primary data supported by secondary data, the data collection technique is interviews and questionnaires to 100 students of Untirta Sindangsari campus class of 2021. The results showed that students of Untirta Sindangsari Campus have a role in reducing food waste in the Untirta Sindangsari campus environment, namely by disposing of waste according to its type, buying enough food, spending food, conducting campaigns and socialization, but there are obstacles faced by students of Untirta Sindangsari campus including lack of awareness of the negative impact of food waste, lack of adequate facilities and infrastructure. In conclusion, the level of participation of Untirta students at the Sindangsari campus is still less active in food waste management. Suggestions should be a special program related to food waste in the campus environment, increased education and socialization related to food waste management, providing supporting facilities such as a composter.

Additional Information: Permasalahan sampah sisa makanan menjadi isu global yang memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap aspek sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan. Di Untirta kampus Sindangsari mahasiswa mempunyai peran aktif dalam menciptakan lingkungan kampus yang bersih dan sehat. Akan tetapi, masih ditemukan mahasiswa yang tidak menghabiskan makanan dan membuang sampah sisa makanan sembarangan. Identifikasi masalah, Bagaimana peran mahasiswa Untirta dalam mengurangi sampah sisa makanan untuk melaksanakan Sustainable Development Goals ke-12, Konsumsi dan Produksi yang Bertanggung Jawab di lingkungan kampus Sindangsari berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 18 Tahun 2008 tentang Pengelolaan Sampah? Bagaimana kendala yang di hadapi mahasiswa Untirta dalam mengurangi sampah sisa?. Teori yang digunakan Teori Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup dan Teori Partisipasi Masyarakat. Metode penelitian yaitu, yuridis empiris, spesifikasi penelitian menggunakan deskriptif analisis, sumber data yaitu data primer yang ditunjang oleh data sekunder, teknik pengumpulan data adalah wawancara dan kuesioner terhadap 100 mahasiswa Untirta kampus Sindangsari angkatan 2021. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa Untirta Kampus Sindangsari memiliki peran dalam mengurangi sampah sisa makanan di lingkungan kampus Untirta Sindangsari yaitu dengan membuang sampah sesuai dengan jenisnya, membeli makan secukupnya, menghabiskan makanan, melakukan kampanye dasn sosialisasi, namun terdapat kendala yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa Untirta kampus Sindangsari diantaranya kurangnya kesadaran akan dampak negatif dari sisa makanan, kurangnya fasilitas sarana dan prasana yang memadai. Kesimpulan tingkat partisipasi mahasiswa Untirta kampus Sindangsari masih kurang aktif dalam pengelolaan sampah sisa makanan. Saran harus ada program khusus terkait sampah sisa makanan di lingkungan kampus, peningkatan edukasi dan sosialisai terkait pengelolaan sampah sisa makanan, menyediakan fasilitas pendukung seperti komposter.
