Abstract
This study aims to develop a throw-and-catch ball game model to enhance the manipulative skills of children aged 7–9 years. Manipulative skills, such as throwing and catching, are essential in motor development and support fundamental sports activities in early childhood. This research used a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, covering the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The developed product consists of three game models: Bola Bahagia, Bola Ceria, and Boi Gembira. The validation results indicate that the game model falls into the highly feasible category, with an average score of 95% from material and media experts, and 98.61% from early childhood sports practitioners. In addition, the trial results show that the model is effective in improving children's manipulative skills as well as enhancing their enthusiasm and participation in physical activities. This game model can serve as a practical and enjoyable training alternative for coaches and physical education teachers in developing fundamental movement skills in early childhood.
