Abstract
This research This study aims to improve students' ability to play recorder through the Direct Instruction model in cultural arts learning class XI of SMAN 4 Serang City. This research uses the Classroom Action Research method, in implementation begins with action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. This activity was carried out twice, namely in cycle I and cycle II. The results of this research in recorder learning carried out during the process and after learning refers to indicators. The indicator of competency achievement is that students are able to play recorder instruments with correct blowing and breathing techniques, as well as recorder with correct blowing and breathing techniques, as well as proper dancing techniques. Based on the results of the research with qualitative and quantitative data analysis, the use of the Direct Instruction model is effectively used in classroom learning. This can be seen from the observation sheet of teacher and student activities, which more active and responsive in classroom learning, and can be seen from the results of the test assessments carried out on the first day of class. Seen from the results of the test assessment conducted at the end of each action in cycle I and cycle II. Students who scored below the KKM in the pre-cycle were 14 people (64%), in cycle I it decreased to 9 people (40%), which means that the percentage of completeness increased by 24%, and after the implementation of class action in cycle II the number of students who scored below the KKM only reached 2 people (9%). Meanwhile, the average score obtained by students was 67.6 at the pre-cycle stage, increased to 75.9 in cycle I, and again increased by 90 in cycle II.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam bermain rekorder melalui model Direct Instruction pada pembelajaran seni budaya kelas XI SMAN 4 Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, dalam pelaksanaannya diawali dengan perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua kali, yaitu pada siklus I dan siklus II. Hasil penelitian dalam pembelajaran rekorder ini dilaksanakan selama proses dan sesudah pembelajaran mengacu pada indikator. Indikator pencapaian kompetensinya yaitu siswa mampu bermain alat musik rekorder dengan teknik meniup dan pernapasan yang benar, serta teknik penjarian yang tepat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan analisis data kualitatif serta kuantitatif, penggunaan model Direct Instruction efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari lembar observasi kegiatan guru dan siswa yang menjadi lebih aktif dan responsif dalam pembelajaran di kelas, serta dapat dilihat dari hasil penilaian tes yang dilakukan disetiap akhir tindakan pada siklus I dan siklus II. Siswa yang memperoleh nilai dibawah KKM pada pra siklus sebanyak 14 orang (64%), pada siklus I berkurang menjadi 9 orang (40%), yang berarti presentase ketuntasannya naik sebesar 24%, dan setelah pelaksanaan tindakan kelas pada siklus II jumlah siswa yang memperoleh nilai dibawah KKM hanya mencapai 2 orang (9%). Sedangkan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa adalah 67,6 pada tahap pra siklus, meningkat menjadi 75,9 pada siklus I, dan kembali meningkat sebesar 90 pada siklus II. | |||||||||
