Abstract
This study was motivated by the mathematical literacy skills of SMP Negeri 1 Menes atudents which are still fairly low and learning style is on of the succes factors of sutdents mathematical literacy skills that can make students feel helped in the learning process, but in reality, learning styles have not received more attention from educators. This study was conducted with the aim to describe the mathematical literacy skills of VIII grade junior high school sudents in terms of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles in solving Flat-Sided Buildings problems. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with research subjects as many as 9 students of class VIII G SMP Negeri 1 Menes based on visual auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. The research instruments used were learning style questionnaires, mathematical literacy tests, and interview guidelines. The results showed that each student’s learning style had varied mathematical literacy skills. Students with visual learning styles in the high mathematical literacy category describe a good ability to solve mathematical literacy problems up to level 3. Visual learning style students with moderate mathematical literacy are less proficient in interpreting or evaluating results. Visual learning style students with low mathematical literacy are less able to fulfill in three indicators of mathematical literacy. Students with auditory learning style with high mathematical literacy category showed good ability by fulfilling the three indicators of mathematical literacy. Auditory learning style students with moderate mathematical literacy are less proficient in interpreting or evaluating results. Auditoy learning styles students with low mathematical literacy are less proficient in fulfilling the three indicators of mathematical literacy. Students with kinesthetic learning style with high mathematical literacy category showed good ability in solving mathematical literacy problems at level 1, 2, and 3 so that overall the questions could be answered correctly. Kinesthetic learning style students with moderate mathematical literacy are less proficient in interpreting or evaluating results. Kinesthetic learning style students with low mathematical literacy were unable to solve level 1, 2, and 3 mathematical literacy problems.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan literasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri 1 Menes yang masih terbilang rendah dan gaya belajar menjadi salah satu faktor keberhasilan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang dapat membuat siswa merasa terbantu dalam proses pembelajaran, namun kenyataannya saat ini gaya belajar belum mendapat perhatian yang lebih dari pendidik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP ditinjau dari gaya belajar visual, auditori, dan kinestetik dalam menyelesaikan soal Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar. Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 9 siswa kelas VIII G SMP Negeri 1 Menes berdasarkan gaya belajar visual, auditori, kinetstetik. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa angket gaya belajar, tes kemampuan literasi matematis, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap gaya belajar siswa memiliki kemampuan literasi matematis yang bervariasi. Siswa dengan gaya belajar visual kategori literasi matematis tinggi menggambarkan kemampuan yang baik dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan literasi matematis hingga level 3. Siswa gaya belajar visual dengan literasi matematis sedang kurang mahir dalam menafsirkan atau mengevaluasi hasil. Siswa gaya belajar visual dengan literasi matematis rendah kurang mampu dalam memenuhi tiga indikator literasi matematis. Siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori kategori literasi matematis tinggi menunjukkan kemampuan yang baik dengan memenuhi ketiga indikator literasi matematis. Siswa gaya belajar auditori dengan literasi matematis sedang kurang mahir dalam menafsirkan atau mengevaluasi hasil. Siswa gaya belajar auditori dengan literasi matematis rendah kurang mahir dalam memenuhi tiga indikator literasi matematis. Siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik kategori literasi matematis tinggi menunjukkan kemampuan yang baik dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan literasi matematis level 1, 2, dan 3 sehingga secara keseluruhan soal mampu terjawab dengan tepat. Siswa gaya belajar kinestetik dengan literasi matematis sedang kurang mahir dalam menafsirkan atau mengevaluasi hasil. Subjek gaya belajar kinestetik dengan literasi matematis rendah tidak mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan literasi matematis level 1, 2, dan 3. | |||||||||
