Abstract

This study examines the management of intercultural communication impressions of Papuan students at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. This study aims to describethe management of Papuan students' impressions on the front stage (interactionwithnon-Papuan students) and the back stage (interaction with fellow Papuan students). This study uses a case study methodology, with interview and observation techniques. The theory used in this study is Dramaturgy with a qualitative approach, andtheparadigm used is constructivism. Based on the results of the study, it shows that thereare dif erences in impression management between the front stage and the back stage. Papuan students try to display a positive image in front of non-Papuan students byadjusting their speaking style, being polite and understanding local culture. Ontheback stage, Papuan students feel more comfortable interacting with fellowPapuanstudents because of similarities in culture, language, and experience. They are morefree to express themselves to share experiences without fear of being judged
