Abstract

Many students have difficulty expressing their ideas when writing anecdotal texts, so students assume that writing anecdotal texts is a difficult text. The obstacle that causes it is the inappropriate method. Researchers are interested in using the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Learning Model and the Discovery Learning Model for learning to write anecdotal texts. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Learning Model, the effect of the Discovery Learning Model, and the difference in effect between the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Learning Model and the Discovery Learning Model on anecdotal text writing skills in class X of SMA Negeri 6 Tangerang Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach. The method used is an experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest control group design. The sampling technique uses a random sampling technique. The samples used are class X A as the experimental class and class X B as the control class. The data obtained are the results of the anecdote text writing test from the pretest and posttest which were tested with statistical calculations assisted by SPSS version 29. The results show the influence of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Learning Model with an average pretest score of 44.8 and a posttest of 80.53. Then, the influence of the Discovery Learning Learning Model with an average pretest score of 46.8 and a posttest of 71.73. Finally, the results of the posttest difference show that the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Learning Model is superior with a difference of 8.8 points. It is concluded that the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Learning Model is superior compared to the Discovery Learning Learning Model to be applied in improving students' anecdote text writing skills.

Additional Information: Banyak siswa yang kesulitan menuangkan idenya saat menulis teks anekdot, sehingga siswa beranggapan menulis teks anekdot adalah teks yang sulit. Kendala yang menyebabkannya adalah metode yang kurang tepat. Peneliti tertarik menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Student Teams Achivement Divisions (STAD) dan Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning untuk pembelajaran menulis teks anekdot. Maka, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan Model Pembelajaran Student Teams Achivement Divisions (STAD), pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning, serta perbedaan pengaruh antara Model Pembelajaran Student Teams Achivement Divisions (STAD) dan Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap keterampilan menulis teks anekdot di kelas X SMA Negeri 6 Kabupaten Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Posttest control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling. Sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas X A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X B sebagai kelas kontrol. Data yang diperoleh merupakan hasil tes menulis teks anekdot dari pretest dan posttest yang diuji dengan perhitungan statistik berbantuan SPSS versi 29. Hasil menunjukkan pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Student Teams Achivement Divisions (STAD) dengan rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 44,8 dan posttest sebesar 80,53. Kemudian, pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning dengan rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 46,8 dan posttest sebesar 71,73. Terakhir, hasil perbedaan posttest menunjukkan Model Pembelajaran Student Teams Achivement Divisions (STAD) lebih unggul dengan selisih sebesar 8,8 poin. Disimpulkan bahwa Model Pembelajaran Student Teams Achivement Divisions (STAD) lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning untuk diterapkan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks anekdot siswa.
