Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model in teaching relativity and its impact on high school students' science literacy. The approach used in this study is quasi-experimental. The research population includes all students in grades XII F1 to F5 at a high school in Lebak Regency. In this case, class XII F3 was designated as the control group, while class XII F4 was designated as the experimental group. The sample was selected using purposive sampling. The methods used to collect data included pretest, posttest, and distribution of questionnaires to determine students' responses to learning with the TGT model. Based on the results of data an`alysis, the average increase in scores in the experimental class reached 34.83, while the control class only showed an increase of 11.3. These findings indicate that there was a significant increase in the group using the TGT model, thus proving that this model is effective in improving students' science literacy, particularly in physics material on relativity.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dalam pembelajaran materi relativitas serta dampaknya terhadap literasi sains siswa SMA. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam studi ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa kelas XII F1 hingga F5 di salah satu SMA yang berada di Kabupaten Lebak. Dalam hal ini, kelas XII F3 ditetapkan sebagai kelompok kontrol, sementara kelas XII F4 ditunjuk sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data meliputi pretest, posttest, dan penyebaran angket guna mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan model TGT. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, rata-rata peningkatan skor pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 34,83, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 11,3. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada kelompok yang menggunakan model TGT, sehingga model ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa, khususnya pada materi fisika tentang relativitas.
