Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament (TGT) assisted by interactive media on students’ numeracy skills, as well as to identify students' responses to the learning model. The background of this research is based on the low level of students' numeracy skills, as indicated by initial observations and the results of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM), along with the lack of variation in teaching models used by teachers. This study employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of students from classes VIII G and VIII E of SMP Negeri 2 Ciruas, divided into an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class was taught using the cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament assisted by the interactive media Plickers, while the control class used conventional learning. The instruments used included numeracy skill tests (pretest and posttest) and a student response questionnaire. The results of the T-test showed a significant difference between the two classes. In addition, students’ responses to the use of the TGT model assisted by interactive media were in the "good" category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament assisted by interactive media has a positive effect on improving students’ numeracy skills and receives positive responses from students.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) berbantuan media interaktif terhadap kemampuan numerasi siswa serta mengetahui respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran tersebut. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan numerasi siswa yang ditunjukkan melalui hasil observasi awal dan hasil Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM), serta kurangnya variasi dalam model pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experimen dengan bentuk pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII G dan VIII E SMP Negeri 2 Ciruas yang dibagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen diberikan pembelajaran dengan model kooperatif Team Games Tournament berbantuan media interaktif Plickers, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes kemampuan numerasi (pretest dan posttest) serta angket respon siswa. Hasil uji T menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelas. Selain itu, respon siswa terhadap penggunaan model TGT berbantuan media interaktif berada pada kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT berbantuan media interaktif berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan numerasi siswa dan mendapat respon positif dari siswa.
