Abstract

This research aims to produce learning media in form of Internet of Things (IoT) based teaching aids, namely the Physics Parameter Monitoring system (PPMs) of UV which is integrated with Problem Based Learning (PBL)-based Learner Worksheets (LKPD) as an application of concepts in electromagnetic wave material, especially regarding UV light, which can facilitate education about skin cancer for high school students. This learning media was designed using an adaptation of the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) by using 3 stages up to the Develop stage. Research on the feasibility of learning media was conducted by three experts with an average score of 4.41 with the category obtained very feasible for the feasibility of teaching aids and 4.46 for the feasibility of LKPD with the category obtained very feasible. The limited trial was conducted by 32 students of class XI in one of the State High Schools in Lebak Regency, resulting in an average score of 4.29 with the category obtained was very good. These results indicate that this Internet of Things (IoT)-based learning media is feasible to use as a learning media to improve understanding of the concept of electromagnetic waves, especially UV rays, while providing education about skin cancer to high school students.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran berupa alat peraga berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yaitu Physics Parameter Monitoring system (PPMs) of UV yang diintegrasikan dengan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) sebagai penerapan konsep pada materi gelombang elektromagnetik khususnya mengenai sinar UV yang dapat memfasilitasi edukasi mengenai kanker kulit peserta didik SMA. Media pembelajaran ini dirancang menggunakan adaptasi dari model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) dengan memakai 3 tahapan sampai dengan tahapan Develop. Penelitian kelayakan media pembelajaran dilakukan oleh tiga orang ahli diperoleh nilai rata-rata 4,41 dengan kategori yang diperoleh sangat layak untuk kelayakan alat peraga dan 4,46 untuk kelayakan LKPD dengan kategori yang diperoleh sangat layak. Uji coba terbatas dilakukan oleh 32 peserta didik kelas XI di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Lebak, menghasilkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 4,29 dengan kategori yang diperoleh adalah sangat baik. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) ini layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep gelombang elektromagnetik, khususnya sinar UV, sekaligus memberikan edukasi mengenai kanker kulit kepada peserta didik SMA.
