Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of both sectors—economic and non-economic. To assess the non-economic sector, the democracy index is used. Meanwhile, to assess the economic sector, capital expenditure, provincial minimum wage, GDP per capita, and the level of foreign direct investment participation from twenty provinces located in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Manpower. The fixed effect model (FEM) is used to conduct panel data analysis. The results of the F statistical test (simultaneous test) show that the democracy index, provincial minimum wage, capital expenditure, GDP per capita, and the labor force participation rate simultaneously affect the economic and non-economic sectors. Furthermore, based on the t test (partial test), 20 provinces in Indonesia have foreign direct investment that is positively and significantly influenced by capital expenditure and provincial minimum wage; however, provincial minimum wage affects foreign investment.

Tujuan studi ini ialah untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh dari kedua sektor—ekonomi dan non-ekonomi. Untuk menilai sektor non-ekonomi, indeks demokrasi dipakai. Sementara itu, untuk menilai sektor ekonomi, belanja modal, upah minimum provinsi, PDRB per kapita, dan tingkat partisipasi investasi asing langsung dari dua puluh provinsi yang terletak di Indonesia. Studi ini memakai data sekunder dari Badan Pusat Statistik, Kementerian Keuangan, dan Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan. Model efek tetap (FEM) dipakai untuk melakukan analisis data panel. Hasil uji statistik F (uji simultan) memperlihatkan bahwa indeks demokrasi, upah minimum provinsi, belanja modal, PDRB per kapita, dan tingkat partisipasi angkatan kerja berpengaruh secara bersamaan pada sektor ekonomi dan non-ekonomi. Selanjutnya, berlandaskan uji t (uji parsial), 20 provinsi di Indonesia memiliki investasi asing langsung yang dipengaruhi positif dan signifikan oleh belanja modal dan upah minimum provinsi; namun, upah minimum provinsi mempengaruhi investasi asing.
