Abstract

Each student has a different learning style, visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. These learning styles can influence how students understand learning materials. In the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, differentiated instruction has become an essential approach to accommodate diverse and individual learning needs. This study aims to describe the implementation of differentiated instruction in the topic of statistics (mean, median, and mode) based on junior high school students' learning styles. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with 16 students of class VIII B at SMP Al-Khairiyah Cilegon as subjects, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of differentiated instruction had a positive impact on students' conceptual understanding and active participation in learning. Students with visual learning styles benefited from graphic-based media, auditory learners from verbal explanations, and kinesthetic learners from hands-on activities. In conclusion, differentiated instruction has proven effective in enhancing students' learning motivation, conceptual understanding, and the overall quality of mathematics learning, in accordance with individual learning characteristics and the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Additional Information: Setiap siswa memiliki gaya belajar yang berbeda, ada visual, auditif, dan kinestetik. Gaya belajar dapat memengaruhi cara mereka memahami materi pembelajaran. Dalam konteks Kurikulum Merdeka, pembelajaran berdiferensiasi menjadi pendekatan penting untuk mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar yang beragam dan individual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi pada materi statistika (mean, median, dan modus) berdasarkan gaya belajar siswa SMP. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 16 siswa kelas VIII B SMP Al-Khairiyah Cilegon yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi angket, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi berdampak positif terhadap pemahaman konsep dan keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran. Siswa dengan gaya belajar visual terbantu melalui media grafis, siswa auditif melalui penjelasan verbal, dan siswa kinestetik melalui kegiatan praktik langsung. Kesimpulannya, pembelajaran berdiferensiasi terbukti mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar, pemahaman materi, dan kualitas pembelajaran matematika yang sesuai dengan karakteristik individu siswa serta selaras dengan prinsip Kurikulum Merdeka.
