Abstract
This study aims to analyze the content of IPAS (Science and Social Science Integration) textbooks at the elementary school level based on the pillars of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and to examine their relevance to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 agenda. The study is driven by the urgency to integrate sustainability principles into basic education through learning media such as textbooks. The research employs a qualitative approach using content analysis methods applied to IPAS textbooks aligned with the "Kurikulum Merdeka" for Grades III to VI. The ESD pillars examined focus on three main dimensions: environmental, social, and economic. The analysis reveals that IPAS textbook content has incorporated some aspects of ESD primarily in the environmental and social dimensions but has not proportionally accommodated the economic dimension. Connections between ESD content in textbooks and SDGs 2030 are identified through several indicators, such as environmental preservation (Goal 13), quality education (Goal 4), and social well-being (Goals 3 and 11). Nonetheless, there remains a need to enhance content so that IPAS learning can foster a holistic and sustainability-oriented mindset in students. The study recommends further development of IPAS textbooks that more integratively address all three ESD pillars to better support the achievement of SDGs through foundational education.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konten buku teks IPAS pada jenjang sekolah dasar berdasarkan pilar Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) serta mengkaji keterkaitannya dengan tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh urgensi integrasi prinsip keberlanjutan dalam pendidikan dasar melalui media pembelajaran seperti buku teks. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode analisis konten terhadap buku teks IPAS kurikulum merdeka kelas III sampai dengan VI. Pilar ESD yang menjadi fokus terdiri dari tiga dimensi utama: lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa konten buku teks IPAS telah mencerminkan sebagian aspek ESD, terutama pada dimensi lingkungan dan sosial, namun belum secara proporsional mengakomodasi dimensi ekonomi. Keterkaitan antara konten ESD dalam buku teks dengan tujuan SDGs 2030 ditemukan pada beberapa indikator seperti pelestarian lingkungan (Tujuan 13), pendidikan berkualitas (Tujuan 4), dan kesejahteraan sosial (Tujuan 3 dan 11). Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat ruang untuk penguatan konten agar pembelajaran IPAS mampu membentuk pola pikir peserta didik yang holistik dan berorientasi pada keberlanjutan.
