Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of competence and organizational support on teacher performance, with work motivation as an intervening variable. The research was conducted among teachers at public vocational high schools (SMK Negeri) in the Pandeglang region. The study was driven by issues including fluctuating teacher performance and mismatches between teachers’ educational backgrounds and their assigned teaching subjects. A quantitative approach was employed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) for data analysis. Data were collected from 100 teacher respondents through questionnaires and documentation. The results indicate that both competence and organizational support have a positive and significant effect on ..work motivation and teacher performance. Furthermore, work motivation has a significant influence on performance and successfully mediates the relationship between competence and performance, as well as between organizational support and performance. This study contributes to the development of human resource management in the education sector, particularly in designing strategies to enhance teacher performance through strengthened competencies and continuous institutional support.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Kompetensi dan Dukungan Organisasi terhadap kinerja Guru, dengan Motivasi kerja sebagai variabel intervening. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah guru-guru SMK Negeri di wilayah Pandeglang. latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh fluktuasi kinerja guru serta ketidaksesuaian antara latar belakang pendidikan dengan mata pelajaran yang diampu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLSSEM). Data diperoleh dari 100 responden guru melalui penyebaran kuesioner dan wawancara. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi dan dukungan organisasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru melalui motivasi. Selain itu, motivasi kerja juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja, serta mampu memediasi hubungan antara kompetensi dan kinerja, maupun antara dukungan organisasi dan kinerja. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan manajemen sumber daya manusia di sektor pendidikan, khususnya dalam merancang strategi peningkatan kinerja guru melalui penguatan kompetensi dan dukungan institusional yang berkelanjutan.
