Abstract
Many students struggle to understand length measurement, especially when solving real-life story problems. This reflects weak mathematical connection skills. Furthermore, students’ reluctance to collaborate with peers indicates a low cooperative learning profile. To address this issue, this study examines the impact of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model, supported by the traditional game gatrik, on students’ mathematical connection skills and cooperation profile. A sequential explanatory mixed-method approach was used, consisting of two phases: quantitative (quasi-experimental) and qualitative (case study). Data were collected through tests, questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using t-tests, while qualitative data were examined using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, combined with Yin’s time series analysis. The results show that the TGT model with gatrik significantly improves both mathematical connection skills and cooperative behavior. Factors influencing mathematical connections include concentration, readiness, interest, cognitive ability, and participation. Meanwhile, cooperation is shaped by teamwork, communication, social skills, and conflict resolution. This study provides insights for teachers to strengthen students’ mathematical and social competencies and serves as a reference for future research on cooperative learning and contextual media in education.

Additional Information: | Banyak siswa kesulitan memahami materi satuan panjang, terutama dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Hal ini menunjukkan lemahnya kemampuan koneksi matematis. Selain itu, rendahnya kemauan siswa untuk bekerja sama dengan semua teman menandakan kurangnya profil gotong royong. Mengatasi hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) menggunakan permainan gatrik terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis dan profil gotong royong siswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mix method jenis sequential explanatory dengan dua tahap: kuantitatif (quasi eksperimen) dan kualitatif (studi kasus). Data dikumpulkan melalui tes, angket, observasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji-t untuk data kuantitatif dan teknik Miles & Huberman yang dipadukan dengan analisis time series dari Yin untuk data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model TGT dengan media permainan gatrik berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan koneksi matematis dan gotong royong. Faktor yang memengaruhi koneksi matematis antara lain konsentrasi, kesiapan, minat, dan kontribusi pembelajaran. Sedangkan profil gotong royong dipengaruhi oleh kerja sama, komunikasi, dan kemampuan menyelesaikan konflik. Penelitian ini menjadi rujukan pengembangan pembelajaran untuk menguatkan koneksi matematis dan profil gotong royong, serta referensi bagi penelitian lanjutan terkait model cooperative learning dan media kontekstual. | |||||||||
