Abstract
This research aims to understand the forms of cultural exchange in mixedmarriages between Chinese citizens and Indonesian citizens, specifically betweenWu Xiucai and Elisa Aulia Balqis as well as Chunyu Fang and Willy, alongwiththe meanings and motivations behind these mixed marriages. The main focus of this study is how meaning and cultural exchange occur in mixed marriages. Basedon John W. Berry's theory, there are four forms of acculturation: integration, assimilation, separation, and marginalization. Therefore, this study seeks todetermine which of these forms is the most appropriate. It also examines verbal and non-verbal communication through Symbolic Interaction Theory. Thisresearch employs a qualitative approach using descriptive methods withdatacollected from interviews with mixed marriage couples. The background of thisstudy is to understand how communication in mixed marriages takes place. Theresult of this research is how non-verbal communication aids mixed couples whodo not understand each other's language, and integration is the most suitableform of cultural exchange. The meaning of mixed marriage is based on the formof love. This research aims to serve as a reference for mixed marriage couples tounderstand each other in interpreting mixed marriage itself

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk pertukaran budaya dalam pernikahan campuran Warga Negara RRC dan WNI antara Wu Xiucai dan Elisa Aulia Balqis serta Chunyu Fang dan Willy serta pemaknaan dan motif dari pernikahan campuran itu sendiri. Fokus utama dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pemaknaan dan pertukaran budaya terjadi di pernikahan campuran. Berdasarkan teori John W Berry terdapat empat bentuk akulturasi yaitu integrasi, asimilasi, separasi, dan marginalisasi. Maka dari keempat bentuk itu, penelitian ini ingin melihat bentuk mana yang paling sesuai. Serta melihat komunikasi verbal – non verbal melalui Teori Interaksi Simbolik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dengan data dari wawancara pada pasangan pernikahan campuran. Latar belakang penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana komunikasi pada pernikahan campuran berlangsung. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana komunikasi non-verbal membantu komunikasi pasangan campuran yang tidak mengerti bahasa satu sama lain serta integrasi adalah bentuk pertukaran budaya yang paling cocok. Pemaknaan pernikahan campuran adalah didasari dengan bentuk cinta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjadi bahan acuan bagi pasangan pernikahan campuran agar memahami satu sama lain dalam memaknai pernikahan campuran itu sendiri. | ||||||
