Andrianis Januar. NIM 091679. Skripsi. Proses Adaptasi Komunikasi Sosial Mahasiswa Perantau Asal Papua dalam Menghadapi Culture Shock di Universitas Trisakti. Pembimbing I: Nina Yuliana, S.Sos, M.Si., dan Pembimbing II: Dipl. Ing (FH) Rangga Galura Gumelar, M.Si. Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana proses adaptasi komunikasi sosial mahasiswa perantau dalam menghadapi culture shock. Latar belakang budaya yang berbeda membuat mahasiswa perantau asal Papua menjadi orang asing di lingkungan baru, dalam penelitian ini mahasiswa perantau asal Papua mengalami hambatan persepsi dan hambatan bahasa. Perbedaan budaya yang membuat mahasiswa perantau asal Papua di Universitas Trisakti sulit untuk menyesuaikan dengan lingkungan yang baru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses adaptasi komunikasi sosial mahasiswa perantau asal Papua dalam menghadapi hambatan persepsi dan hambatan bahasa di Universitas Trisakti. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga orang mahasiswa perantau asal Papua di Universitas Trisakti. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori akomodasi komunikasi. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa masing-masing individu memiliki cara yang beragam dalam melakukan proses adaptasi komunikasi sosial agar dapat diterima di lingkungan barunya. Kata Kunci: Komunikasi Sosial, Culture Shock, Akomodasi Komunikasi.

The purpose of this research is to know the process of social communication Papua student in facing perception and language obstacle in Trisakti University. This research use the descriptive qualitative method and collect the datas with interview and observation. The informant of this research are three of Papua student in Trisakti University. This research use a theory of communication accommodation. The conclution of this research found that each individual had so much kind on their own adaptation communication process in order accepted in their new surroundings.
