Abstract

This study aims to examine the correlation of work motivation and learning community to the teacher’s performance of elementary school in Bojonegara District, Serang Regency. The background of this research is based on the 2024 Education Report, which indicates that the quality of learning and teacher performance remains suboptimal. Work motivation and the presence of learning community are two key factors presumed to contribute to improving teacher performance, yet they are rarely investigated simultaneously. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational method to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of work motivation and learning communities on teacher performance. The study adheres to scientific standards in determining the confidence level of the data analysis results by applying a significance level of α = 0.05 or 5%. Accordingly, the confidence level of the findings reaches 95%, indicating a high level of reliability in explaining the relationships among the examined variables. The analysis results show a positive and significant relationship between work motivation and teacher performance, as indicated by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a correlation coefficient of 0.676. In addition, learning communities also show a positive and significant relationship with teacher performance, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a correlation coefficient of 0.636. Simultaneously, work motivation and learning communities have a significant correlation with teacher performance, with a correlation coefficient of 0.684. These findings indicate that improving teacher performance can be achieved through the combined enhancement of work motivation and the strengthening of learning community, as their joint contribution is greater than when addressed separately.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji korelasi motivasi kerja dan komunitas belajar terhadap kinerja guru sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Bojonegara, Kabupaten Serang. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada Laporan Pendidikan 2024 yang menunjukkan bahwa mutu pembelajaran dan kinerja guru masih belum optimal. Motivasi kerja dan keberadaan komunitas belajar merupakan dua faktor kunci yang dianggap berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kinerja guru, namun keduanya jarang diteliti secara bersamaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional untuk menganalisis pengaruh motivasi kerja dan komunitas belajar terhadap kinerja guru secara parsial dan simultan. Penelitian ini mematuhi kaidah ilmiah dalam menentukan tingkat keyakinan hasil analisis data dengan menerapkan taraf signifikansi α = 0,05 atau 5%. Dengan demikian, taraf keyakinan temuan mencapai 95%, yang menunjukkan tingkat reliabilitas yang tinggi dalam menjelaskan hubungan antar variabel yang diteliti. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi kerja dengan kinerja guru, yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 dan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,676. Selain itu, komunitas belajar juga menunjukkan hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan kinerja guru, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 dan koefisien korelasi 0,636. Secara bersamaan, motivasi kerja dan komunitas belajar memiliki korelasi signifikan dengan kinerja guru, dengan koefisien korelasi 0,684. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kinerja guru dapat dicapai melalui peningkatan motivasi kerja dan penguatan komunitas belajar secara bersamaan, karena kontribusi keduanya lebih besar daripada jika ditangani secara terpisah.
