Abstract
This research is titled “Representation of Quarter Life Crisis in the Lyrics of 'Besok Mungkin Kita Sampai' by Hindia (A Semiotic Analysis by Ferdinand de Saussure).” The study aims to analyze how the lyrics of this song represent Quarter Life Crisis through Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach, which examines the relationship between the signifier and the signified. The research uses a qualitative method with an interpretative approach, collecting data through non-participant observation, documentary study, and literature review, and ensuring the validity of the data through triangulation. The analysis shows that the lyrics of this song depict various phases of the Quarter Life Crisis, including confusion, uncertainty, and the search for direction in life, which are reflected in the phases of Locked in, Separation, Exploration, and Rebuilding. In the Locked in phase, the individual feels trapped by many life choices, while Separation illustrates the urge to change the situation. Exploration is evident in the search for self-identity despite lingering doubts, and in the Rebuilding phase, the individual begins to accept life's uncertainties and focuses on a life that aligns with their personal values. The lyrics of this song also reflect the seven key dimensions of Quarter Life Crisis according to Hassler (2009), which are confusion, doubt, despair, negative self-evaluation, being trapped in difficult situations, feeling pressured, and concerns about interpersonal relationships. This song portrays an individual's struggle with frustration, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future, which is characteristic of people in their 20s. Thus, the lyrics serve as a powerful emotional representation for those experiencing similar phases.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini berjudul “Representasi Quarter Life Crisis dalam Lirik Lagu ‘Besok Mungkin Kita Sampai’ Karya Hindia (Analisis Semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure).” Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana lirik lagu tersebut merepresentasikan Quarter Life Crisis melalui pendekatan semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure, yang mengkaji hubungan antara penanda (signifier) dan petanda (signified). Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan interpretatif, mengumpulkan data melalui teknik observasi non-partisipan, studi dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka, serta diuji keabsahannya menggunakan triangulasi data. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa lirik lagu ini menggambarkan fase-fase Quarter Life Crisis, termasuk kebingungan, ketidakpastian, dan pencarian arah hidup yang tercermin dalam fase Locked in, Separation, Exploration, dan Rebuilding. Pada fase Locked in, individu merasa terjebak dalam banyak pilihan hidup, sementara Separation menggambarkan dorongan untuk mengubah situasi. Exploration terlihat dalam pencarian jati diri meskipun dibayangi keraguan, dan pada fase Rebuilding, individu mulai menerima ketidakpastian hidup serta berfokus pada kehidupan yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai pribadinya. Lirik lagu ini juga mencerminkan tujuh dimensi utama Quarter Life Crisis menurut Hassler (2009), yaitu kebimbangan, keraguan, putus asa, penilaian negatif terhadap kehidupan, terjebak dalam situasi sulit, perasaan tertekan, dan kekhawatiran akan relasi interpersonal. Lagu ini menggambarkan perjuangan individu dalam menghadapi frustrasi, kegelisahan, dan kecemasan terhadap masa depan yang menjadi ciri khas usia 20-an. Dengan demikian, lirik lagu ini menjadi representasi emosional yang kuat bagi mereka yang mengalami fase serupa. | |||||||||
