Abstract
Urban farming is an agricultural concept that has emerged in response to the increasing conversion of farmland into residential, industrial, and commercial areas. It serves as a sustainable alternative to help meet food demands in urban environments. Among the various methods of urban agriculture, hydroponics has become one of the most widely adopted due to its efficient use of space and water. One promising application of hydroponics is the cultivation of melons, particularly the Fujisawa variety. This fruit crop has gained popularity among farmers, particularly the younger generation, as it offers both economic opportunity and the potential to create new employment. This study aims to determine the influence on analyzing the economic feasibility of hydroponic melon (Cucumis melo L.) farming at Pesona Sayur in the Klapanunggal District of Bogor Regency. The objectives include evaluating production costs, revenue, and income, as well as calculating economic indicators such as the Break-Even Point (BEP), Revenue-Cost Ratio (R/C), Benefit-Cost Ratio (B/C), and Payback Period. The results show that hydroponic melon farming is economically viable and profitable. The R/C Ratio is 1.074, indicating that revenue exceeds costs (since 1.074 > 1). The B/C Ratio is 0.074, which is also positive (0.074 > 0), and the Payback Period is calculated at 2.51 years (approximately 2 years and 6 months). Although the business has only been operating for 1 year and 5 months, there is strong potential for long-term profitability. To improve efficiency, it is recommended to optimize both investment and operational costs.

| Additional Information: | Pertanian perkotaan merupakan konsep pertanian yang muncul sebagai respons terhadap semakin meningkatnya alih fungsi lahan pertanian menjadi kawasan permukiman, industri, dan komersial. Konsep ini menjadi alternatif berkelanjutan untuk membantu memenuhi kebutuhan pangan di lingkungan perkotaan. Di antara berbagai metode pertanian urban, hidroponik menjadi salah satu yang paling banyak diadopsi karena efisiensi dalam penggunaan lahan dan air. Salah satu penerapan hidroponik yang menjanjikan adalah budidaya melon, khususnya varietas Fujisawa. Komoditas buah ini semakin diminati oleh para petani, terutama generasi muda, karena memberikan peluang ekonomi serta potensi dalam menciptakan lapangan kerja baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan ekonomi usahatani melon hidroponik (Cucumis melo L.) di Pesona Sayur, Kecamatan Klapanunggal, Kabupaten Bogor. Tujuan khusus dari penelitian ini mencakup evaluasi terhadap biaya produksi, penerimaan, dan pendapatan, serta perhitungan indikator ekonomi seperti Break-Even Point (BEP), Revenue-Cost Ratio (R/C), Benefit-Cost Ratio (B/C), dan Payback Period. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usahatani melon hidroponik layak dan menguntungkan secara ekonomi. Rasio R/C sebesar 1,074, yang berarti pendapatan lebih besar dari biaya (karena 1,074 > 1). Rasio B/C sebesar 0,074, yang juga menunjukkan nilai positif (0,074 > 0), serta Payback Period diperoleh selama 2,51 tahun (sekitar 2 tahun 6 bulan). Meskipun usaha ini baru berjalan selama 1 tahun 5 bulan, terdapat potensi yang kuat untuk mencapai keuntungan jangka panjang. Untuk meningkatkan efisiensi, disarankan agar dilakukan optimalisasi terhadap biaya investasi maupun biaya operasional. | |||||||||
