Abstract
This study aims to analyze and describe women's resistance to patriarchal culture in the novel Amba by Laksmi Pamuntjak. The theory used in this study is Karen Horney's psychoanalytic feminism regarding women's resistance, namely approaching others, fighting others, and avoiding others. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected using documentation, reading, and note-taking techniques. The instrument used was a data card. After the data sources were collected, the researcher analyzed the data with descriptive analysis. The collected data were processed using data triangulation techniques, namely selecting three competent investigators who were experts in their fields. The results of the study showed that there was women's resistance to patriarchal culture in the novel Amba, which consisted of 35 data. The most data was fighting others, as many as 19 data. Data on approaching others were 10 data and avoiding others were 6 data. Female characters in the novel Amba tend to choose to fight others to fight for their rights, such as Amba who dared to fight for her desire to go to college. The results of the study are relevant to be used as a teaching module for Phase F literature learning for Class XI in terms of language, psychology, and cultural background. In addition, the novel Amba also contains a message of gender equality that can be applied in the school environment.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan resistensi perempuan terhadap budaya patriarki dalam novel Amba karya Laksmi Pamuntjak. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah feminisme psikoanalisis Karen Horney mengenai perlawanan perempuan, yaitu mendekati orang lain, melawan orang lain, dan menjauhi orang lain. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik dokumentasi, baca, dan catat. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kartu data. Setelah sumber data terkumpul, peneliti menganalisis data dengan analisis deskriptif. Data yang telah terkumpul diolah dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi data, yakni memilih tiga orang penyidik yang berkompeten dan ahli dalam bidangnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya resistensi perempuan terhadap budaya patriarki dalam novel Amba yang atas 35 data. Data terbanyak yaitu melawan orang lain sebanyak 19 data. Data mendekati orang lain sebanyak 10 data dan menjauhi orang lain sebanyak 6 data. Tokoh perempuan dalam novel Amba cenderung memilih melawan orang lain untuk memperjuangkan haknya, seperti Amba yang berani melawan untuk keinginannya kuliah. Hasil penelitian relevan dijadikan modul ajar pembelajaran sastra Fase F Kelas XI dari segi bahasa, psikologis, dan latar belakang budaya. Selain itu, novel Amba juga mengandung pesan kesetaraan gender yang dapat diterapkan di lingkungan sekolah. | |||||||||
