Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of storytelling activities on the vocabulary mastery of children aged 5-6 years at Kemala Bhayangkari 05 Kindergarten, Banten Region. Vocabulary mastery at an early age is one of the important indicators in children's language development, which can affect children's abilities. Storytelling activities were chosen as a method to improve children's vocabulary because they can provide fun stimulation, involve imagination, and introduce various vocabularies through stories that are rich in meaning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study showed that storytelling activities can enrich children's vocabulary, improve communication skills, and make it easier for children to understand the meaning of new words. These findings suggest the importance of implementing storytelling activities in early childhood education. Therefore, it is hoped that this study can provide a positive contribution to the development of early childhood education, especially in terms of language mastery.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan kegiatan mendongeng terhadap penguasaan kosakata anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Kemala Bhayangkari 05 Daerah Banten. Penguasaan kosakata pada usia dini merupakan salah satu indikator penting dalam perkembangan bahasa anak, yang dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan anak. Kegiatan mendongeng dipilih sebagai metode untuk meningkatkan kosakata anak karena dapat memberikan stimulasi yang menyenangkan, melibatkan imajinasi, dan memperkenalkan beragam kosakata melalui cerita yang kaya akan makna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Kualitatif deskriptif, Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan mendongeng dapat memperkaya kosakata anak, meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi, serta mempermudah anak dalam memahami makna kata-kata baru. Temuan ini menyarankan pentingnya penerapan kegiatan mendongeng dalam pendidikan anak usia dini. Oleh karena itu, diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memberikan kontribusi positif bagi pengembangan pendidikan anak usia dini, khususnya dalam aspek penguasaan bahasa.
