Abstract

Indonesia as a tropical archipelago has a high level of vulnerability to drought events triggered by climate variability, changes in temperature and rainfall. This has a significant impact on water availability, especially in Serang Regency. This study aims to analyse the potential of drought-prone areas in Serang Regency using rainfall and temperature parameters. This research uses secondary data including rainfall and temperature processed using non-experimental quantitative research methods with spatial analysis and SARIMA. The results showed that the central to eastern areas of Serang Regency have a high level of drought vulnerability, with spatial validation showing an accuracy level of 84.61%. The SPEI index tends to be more sensitive than SPI in detecting drought stress due to the influence of temperature. This approach is considered effective to support early warning system and drought risk mitigation.

Additional Information: Indonesia sebagai negara kepulauan beriklim tropis memiliki tingkat kerentanan yang tinggi terhadap kejadian kekeringan yang dipicu oleh variabilitas iklim, perubahan suhu dan curah hujan. Hal ini berdampak signifikan terhadap ketersediaan air, terutama di wilayah Kabupaten Serang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi wilayah rentan kekeringan di Kabupaten Serang dengan menggunakan parameter curah hujan dan suhu. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder meliputi curah hujan dan suhu yang diolah menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif non-eksperimen dengan analisis spasial dan SARIMA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wilayah tengah hingga timur Kabupaten Serang memiliki tingkat kerentanan kekeringan tinggi, dengan validasi spasial menunjukkan tingkat akurasi 84,61%. Indeks SPEI cenderung lebih sensitive dibanding SPI dalam mendeteksi tekanan kekeringan akibat pengaruh suhu. Pendekatan ini dinilai efektif untuk mendukung sistem peringatan dini dan mitigasi risiko kekeringan.
