Abstract

Upholding dental cleanliness from a young age is crucial to avoid different dental and oral health issues These initiatives are crucial for establishing healthy lifestyle habits in kids. None the less, young children frequently lack effective tooth brushing abilities. This research seeks to evaluate the. influence of assuming the role of a dentist on the tooth brushing abilities of children aged 4-5 years at Putra II Kindergarten in Serang City, Banten. This research employed a quantitative strategy utilizing a quasi-experimental method featuring a non-equivalent control group layout. The study participants were divided into two groups: the. experimental group engaged in treatment through the role-playing as a dentist, while the control group received no treatment. The research tool was verified and assessed for reliability, demonstrating valid and dependable outcomes (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.942). The outcomes of the normality and homogeneity assessments indicated that the data exhibited a normal distribution and homogeneity. Hypothesis testing through the. Paired Sample. T-Test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) suggesting a notable difference in children's tooth brushing abilities following the treatment. Kids in the experimental group exhibited greater advancement in skills, comprehension, and enthusiasm when compared to the control group.

Additional Information: Menjaga kebersihan gigi sejak dini sangat penting untuk mencegah berbagai masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Upaya tersebut juga penting guna membentuk kebiasaan hidup sehat pada anak. Namun, anak-anak se.ring kali belum menguasai keterampilan menyikat gigi dengan baik. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak permainan peran dokter gigi terhadap ke.mampuan menyikat gigi pada anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK Putra II Kota Serang, Banten. Kuantitatif metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dengan metode eksperimen kuasi dan desain non equivalent control group. Penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang mendapat perlakuan yaitu bermain peran dokter gigi dan kelompok kontrol tanpa perlakuan. Instrumen penelitian divalidasi dan diuji reliabilitasnya, menunjukkan hasil valid dan reliabel (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,942). Uji hipotesis menggunakan Paired Sample. T-Test menunjukkan signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (< 0,05), yang mengindikasikan perbedaan signifikan pada keterampilan menyikat gigi anak setelah diberikan perlakuan. Anak dalam kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan, pemahaman, dan motivasi yang lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok kontrol.
