Abstract
This study aims to examine the influence of six provinces in Java Island during the years 2018–2023. This study examines independent variables such as the labor force participation rate, literacy rate, provincial minimum wage, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and Regional Gross Domestic Product (RGDP). The data used comes from secondary sources, including the Ministry of Manpower and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The methodology used is panel data regression employing the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) based on the values from the Chow and Hausman tests. The research findings indicate that the labor force participation rate, minimum wage, and foreign direct investment have a negative and significant impact on the unemployment rate, while the literacy rate does not have a significant effect. Meanwhile, GDP does not show a significant impact. The implications of these findings indicate that policies aimed at increasing labor force participation through literacy programs (literacy rates), as well as optimizing provincial minimum wages, foreign investment, and more targeted regional gross domestic product improvements, have the potential to reduce unemployment rates in Java Island.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti pengaruh dari enam provinsi Pulau Jawa selama tahun 2018–2023. Studi ini meneliti variabel independen yaitu tingkat partisipasi angkatan kerja, angka melek huruf, upah minimum provinsi, Penanaman Modal Asing (PMA), dan Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB). Data yang digunakan berasal dari sumber sekunder, termasuk Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan dan Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). Metodologi yang digunakan adalah regresi data panel dengan menggunakan Fixed Effect Model (FEM) berdasarkan nilai dari Uji Chow dan Hausman. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat partisipasi angkatan kerja, upah minimum dan penanaman modal asing memiliki pengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap tingkat pengangguran, sementara angka melek huruf tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Sedangkan PDRB tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan. Implikasi dari temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa kebijakan peningkatan tingkat partisipasi angkatan kerja melalui program literasi (angka melek huruf) serta optimalisasi upah minimum provinsi, penanaman modal asing dan peningkatan produk domestik regional bruto yang lebih terarah berpotensi mengurangi tingkat pengangguran di Pulau Jawa. | ||||||||||||
