Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of family dysfunction on student learning motivation in sociology subjects and how much influence. This research uses quantitative method with survey research type. The population in this study was class XII students of SMA Negeri 3 Kota Serang, with a sample of 85 students taken from classes XII-9 and XII-11 using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis techniques used include descriptive analysis and inferential analysis, which consists of prerequisite analysis and hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis. Based on simple linear regression analysis, the Constant (α) value is 174.907 and the regression coefficient (b) value is -1.045 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This means that every one unit increase in the family dysfunction variable will reduce student learning motivation by 1.045 units. In addition, the r-square value of 0.473 indicates that family dysfunction contributes 47.3% to the student learning motivation variable. Through a theoretical approach, it is found that dysfunctional families fail to perform the four structural functions optimally. The adaptation function does not work because the family is unable to fulfil the material and emotional needs of children; the goal achievement function is absent because there is no direction and support for the learning process; the integration function is disrupted by conflict and tenuous relationships between family members; and the latency function continues but is distorted, where dysfunctional values are inherited and considered normal. These failures are systemic and interrelated, creating a family environment that is not conducive to character building and student learning motivation.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian survei. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 3 Kota Serang, dengan sampel sebanyak 85 siswa yang diambil dari kelas XII-9 dan XII-11 menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi analisis deskriptif serta analisis inferensial, yang terdiri dari uji prasyarat analisis dan uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Berdasarkan analisis regresi linear sederhana, diperoleh nilai Constant (α) sebesar 174,907 dan nilai koefisien regresi (b) sebesar -1,045 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hal ini berarti setiap peningkatan satu satuan dalam variabel disfungsi keluarga akan menurunkan motivasi belajar siswa sebesar 1,045 satuan. Selain itu, nilai r-square sebesar 0,473 menunjukkan bahwa disfungsi keluarga memberikan kontribusi sebesar 47,3% terhadap variabel motivasi belajar siswa. Melalui pendekatan teoretis, ditemukan bahwa keluarga disfungsional gagal menjalankan keempat fungsi struktural tersebut secara optimal. Fungsi adaptasi tidak berjalan karena keluarga tidak mampu memenuhi kebutuhan material dan emosional anak; fungsi pencapaian tujuan absen karena tidak adanya arah dan dukungan terhadap proses belajar; fungsi integrasi terganggu oleh konflik dan hubungan yang renggang antaranggota keluarga; dan fungsi latency tetap berjalan namun menyimpang, di mana nilai-nilai disfungsional justru diwariskan dan dianggap sebagai hal yang wajar. Kegagalan ini bersifat sistemik dan saling berkaitan, menciptakan lingkungan keluarga yang tidak kondusif bagi pembentukan karakter dan motivasi belajar siswa. | |||||||||
