Abstract

The PZEM004T sensor is a versatile device that measures various electrical parameters, including active power, electric current, alternating voltage (AC), frequency, and energy consumption, and requires a 5-volt external power supply. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a power factor correction device in reducing power dissipation in electrical loads while analyzing the cost efficiency of this power loss reduction method. Data was collected directly through measurements and tests of electrical parameters. The experimental results revealed an increase in the power factor of the TL lamp load from 0.35 (without a capacitor) to 0.81 after installing a 4 microfarad capacitor. This indicates that using the right capacitors can enhance the power factor of inductive loads. The analysis of the tool's effectiveness showed a value of 0.81 for a 20-watt TL lamp load, a considerable improvement from the initial value of 0.35. This demonstrates that implementing a power factor correction tool can significantly enhance the efficiency of the power distribution system. Keywords: PZEM004T Sensor, Capacitor, Power Factor

Additional Information: Sensor PZEM004T merupakan perangkat multifungsi yang berfungsi untuk mengukur berbagai parameter kelistrikan. Perangkat ini mampu melakukan pengukuran daya aktif, arus listrik, tegangan bolak-balik (AC), frekuensi, dan konsumsi energi, dengan kebutuhan catu daya eksternal sebesar 5 volt. Studi ini bertujuan menganalisis kinerja alat koreksi faktor daya dalam menekan disipasi daya pada beban listrik sekaligus menilai efisiensi biaya perangkat pengurang rugi-rugi daya. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan pengambilan data secara langsung melalui pengukuran dan pengujian parameter kelistrikan. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan faktor daya pada beban lampu TL dari 0,35 (tanpa kapasitor) menjadi 0,81 setelah pemasangan kapasitor 4 mikrofarad. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan kapasitor yang sesuai dapat meningkatkan faktor daya pada beban induktif. Analisis efektivitas alat menunjukkan nilai 0,81 untuk beban lampu TL 20 watt, mengalami peningkatan signifikan dari nilai awal 0,35. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa implementasi alat koreksi faktor daya mampu meningkatkan efisiensi sistem distribusi tenaga listrik secara nyata. Kata kunci : Sensor PZEM004T, Kapasitor, Faktor Daya
