Abstract

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive kidney disease characterized by a gradual decline in kidney function, so that the body cannot maintain fluid electrolyte balance, and metabolism. CKD patients often undergo hemodialysis as a long-term therapy. This condition can cause anxiety as a result of lifestyle changes and dependence on medication. Spiritual Well-being plays an important role in helping patients manage anxiety. Objective: To determine the Relationship between Psychological Well-being and Anxiety in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients undergoing Hemodialysis at RSUD dr. Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung. Method: This study uses a quantitative research type using a cross-sectional method conducted on 87 respondents in the Hemodialysis room of RSUD dr. Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung. Data were collected using the Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS) and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaires. Results: This study found a significant relationship between spiritual well-being and anxiety levels (p value 0.020 <0.05), with the results that the majority of respondents in hemodialysis patients did not experience anxiety, namely 59 (67.8%), while in high spiritual well-being, namely 60 respondents (69%), indicating that the higher the spiritual well-being, the lower the level of anxiety. Conclusion: Spiritual well-being has an important role in reducing anxiety in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.
