Abstract
The demands of 21st century education require students to have critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skills are the ability to engage in a particular activity, process, or procedure. The development of HOTS e-instruments to train critical thinking skills is a resolution to learning problems faced by students. By developing HOTS-based test instruments and using critical thinking skills indicators, students can be trained to hone their abilities according to the demands of 21st century competencies. This study aims to develop a product in the form of an e-instrument by raising biodiversity material to train students' valid critical thinking skills so that they can be applied in class VII learning at the junior high school level. The research and development used in this study were adapted from 4-D (Four-D). This model consists of 4 stages, namely define, design, development, and disseminate, but this study only reaches the stage of developing the results of students' responses to the development of e-instruments. The results of this study indicate that the level of validity obtained from the evaluation expert obtained a percentage of 89.13% with the category of "very valid", the assessment of the material expert validator obtained a percentage of 88.12% with the category of "very valid" and the assessment of the science teacher validator obtained a percentage of 86.97% with the category of "very valid". The HOTS e-instrument developed on the material of biodiversity for junior high school students in grade VII has a level of validity of 88.07% with the category of "very valid" so that the product developed can be continued to the next stage. The results of the limited trial of student responses obtained a percentage value of 84.03% with the category of "very good".

| Additional Information: | Tuntutan dalam pendidikan abad 21 siswa harus memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis. Kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah kemampuan untuk terlibat dalam suatu aktivitas, proses, atau prosedur tertentu. Pengembangan e-instrumen HOTS untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis menjadi resolusi dari permasalahan pembelajaran yang dihadapi siswa. Dengan melakukan pengembangan instrumen tes yang berbasis HOTS dan menggunakan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat melatih siswa untuk mengasah kemampuan sesuai dengan tuntutan kompetensi abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk berbentuk e-instrumen dengan mengangkat materi keanekaragaman hayati untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang valid sehingga bisa diaplikasikan dalam pembelajaran kelas VII pada tingkat SMP. Penelitian dan pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diadaptasi dari 4-D (Four-D). Model ini terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), development (pengembangan), dan disseminate (penyebaran), tetapi penelitian ini hanya sampai pada tahap pengembangan bagian hasil respon siswa terhadap pengembangan e-instrumen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat validitas yang diperoleh dari ahli evaluasi, memperoleh persentase sebesar 89,13% dengan kategori “sangat valid”, penilaian validator ahli materi memperoleh persentase sebesar 88,12% dengan kategori “sangat valid” dan penilaian validator guru IPA memperoleh persentase sebesar 86,97% dengan kategori “sangat valid”. E-instrumen HOTS yang dikembangkan pada materi keanekaragaman hayati untuk siswa SMP kelas VII telah memiliki tingkat validitas, sebesar 88,07% dengan kategori “sangat valid” sehingga produk yang dikembangkan dapat dilanjutkan pada tahap selanjutnya. Hasil uji coba terbatas respon siswa memperoleh persentase nilai sebesar 84,03% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. | |||||||||
