Abstract

Scientific literacy is important for students in the face of demands and developments in the 21st century. The aim of this research is to develop a science literacy instrument with a two tier multiple choice format to measure students' scientific literacy skills on base acid material. Development of test instruments prepared with the 4D development model includes the define, design and develop. The test instrument developed with validated by seven validation experts and empirical validation was carried out at SMAN 1 Bandung class XI MIPA 1. The validity of the contents used the CVR test and obtained a score of 1,00 with criteria highly qualified. Empirical validity of the test results in students performed several tests namely: 1) Reliability with a score of 0.704 of instruments on science literacy has good reliability; 2) Difficulty distribution of questions of 32% easy, 32% moderate, and 36% difficult; 3) Differentiation of questions is categorized quite well with a distinction of issues of 16% good, 24% bad and 60% pretty good; 4) Difference distribution with categories of 26% very bad, 17% well, 18% less good, 29% not good and 10% very bad. Average results of the science literacy profile of students of class XI MIPA 1 overall in the low category with a literacy level coefficient of 49.89.

Additional Information: Literasi sains penting bagi peserta didik dalam menghadapi tuntutan dan perkembangan di abad 21. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan instrumen soal literasi sains dengan format two tier multiple choice untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada materi asam basa. Pengembangan instrumen soal disusun dengan model pengembangan 4D meliputi define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), dan development (pengembangan). Instrumen soal yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh tujuh validator dan validasi empiris dilakukan di SMAN 1 Bandung Kelas XI MIPA 1. Validitas isi digunakan uji CVR dan memperoleh nilai 1,00 dengan kriteria sangat layak. Validitas empiris dari hasil uji coba pada siswa dilakukan beberapa uji yaitu: 1) Realibitas dengan nilai 0,704 instrumen soal literasi sains memiliki reliabilitas yang baik; 2) Distribusi tingkat kesukaran soal sebesar 32% mudah, 32% sedang, dan 36% sukar; 3) Daya pembeda instrumen soal dikategorikan cukup baik dengan distribusi daya pembeda butir soal sebesar 16% baik, 24% tidak baik dan 60% cukup baik; 4) Distribusi pengecoh dengan kategori 26% sangat tidak baik, 17% baik, 18% kurang baik, 29% tidak baik dan 10% sangat tidak baik. Hasil rata-rata profil kemampuan literasi sains siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 secara keseluruhan dalam kategori rendah dengan koefisien tingkat literasi sebesar 49,89.
