Abstract
Female journalists face various challenges in carrying out their profession and maintaining their existence in an industry that is still dominated by men. This study aims to determine the motives for the involvement of female journalists in Banten, the meaning of gender equality according to their experiences, and strategies in maintaining their existence in the world of journalism. This study uses Alfred Schutz's Phenomenology Theory, a descriptive qualitative approach, with interview, observation and documentation data collection techniques. The results of the study show that their motives consist of the reason motive (because motive) namely passion, interest, economy and a sense of responsibility. The purpose motive (in order to motive) such as impact, economic factors and career development. The meaning of gender equality obtained is influenced by the interaction of the work environment, they view the journalism profession as a professional job, realizing that women must fight and face limited opportunities that are not yet wide open. To maintain their existence, female journalists prioritize integrity, develop science and technology and continue to work. Thus they can work professionally and responsibly. This study is expected to provide deeper insight into the challenges faced by female journalists and the importance of gender equality in the world of journalism.

| Additional Information: | Jurnalis perempuan menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam menjalankan profesi serta mempertahankan eksistensinya di Industri yang masih didominasi oleh laki-laki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motif keterlibatan jurnalis perempuan di Banten, makna kesetaraan gender menurut pengalaman mereka, serta strategi dalam mempertahankan eksistensi di dunia jurnalistik. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teori Fenomenologi Alfred Schutz, pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif mereka terdiri dari motif alasan (because motive) yaitu passion, interest, ekonomi serta rasa bertanggung jawab. Motif tujuan (in order to motive) seperti keberdampakan, faktor ekonomi dan pengembangan karier. Makna kesetaraan gender yang diperoleh dipengaruhi oleh interaksi lingkungan kerja, mereka memandang profesi jurnalis sebagai pekerjaan yang profesional, menyadari bahwa perempuan harus melawan dan menghadapi keterbatasan kesempatan yang belum terbuka lebar. Untuk mempertahankan eksistensi, jurnalis perempuan mengutamakan integritas, mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi serta terus berkarya. Dengan demikian mereka dapat bekerja secara profesional dan bertanggung jawab. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan wawasan lebih dalam mengenai tantangan yang dihadapi jurnalis perempuan dan pentingnya kesetaraan gender dalam dunia jurnalistik. | ||||||
