Abstract
This study aims to determine the history of Rangkasbitung City, the early history of the establishment of Rangkasbitung Station and the role of Rangkasbitung Station in the socio-economic community in 1900-1945. The method used in this research is the historical research method which includes several stages, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The research results show that Rangkasbitung Station had a very important role in the social economy of society in 1900-1945, that Rangkasbitung Station was a passenger and goods station and was included in the large stations. Rangkasbitung Station is accommodation for people to travel outside Rangkasbitung and bring agricultural and plantation commodities. Apart from that, this thesis discovered the fact that the Rangkasbitung Station was used by the Rangkasbitung people for livelihoods such as trading around the station and being porters for goods. Therefore, the existence of Rangkasbitung Station provides employment opportunities for the people of Rangkasbitung. During the Dutch East Indies government in 1900-1940, Rangkasbitung Station was used to transport various kinds of plantation and agricultural commodities as well as being a passenger station. In 1942-1944, during the transition of power between the Netherlands and Japan, the role of Rangkasbitung Station changed functions. During the Japanese period, Rangkasbitung Station was used as a means of transportation to carry agricultural products in the form of coal and gold mines for war purposes.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Sejarah Kota Rangkasbitung, Sejarah Awal Mula Berdirinya Stasiun Rangkabsitung dan Peranan Stasiun Rangkasbitung terhadap sosial ekonomi masyarakat tahun 1900-1945. Penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis peranan Stasiun Rangkasbitung terhadap sosial ekonomi masyarakat tahun 1900-1945. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode penelitian historis yang meliputi beberapa tahap yakni heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Stasiun Rangkasbitung memiliki peranan yang sangat penting terhadap sosial ekonomi masyarakat di tahun 1900-1945 bahwa Stasiun Rangkasbitung merupakan stasiun penumpang dan barang serta termasuk kedalam stasiun besar. Stasiun Rangkasbitung menjadi akomodasi untuk masyarakat bepergian keluar Rangkasbitung serta membawa hasil komoditas pertanian dan juga perkebunan. Selain itu, skripsi ini menemukan fakta bahwa Stasiun Rangkasbitung dimanfaatkan masyarakat Rangkasbitung sebagai mata pencaharian seperti berdagang diskeitar stasiun dan menjadi kuli angkut barang. oleh karena itu, dengan adanya Stasiun Rangkasbitung memberikan lapangan pekerjaan bagi masyarakat Rangkasbitung. Pada masa pemerintah Hindia Belanda tahun 1900-1940an Stasiun Rangkasbitung digunakan untuk mengangkut berbagai macam komoditas perkebunan dan pertanian serta menjadi stasiun penumpang. Pada tahun 1942-1944 masa peralihan kekuasaan antara Belanda dan Jepang peran dari Stasiun Rangkasbitung beralih fungsi. Pada masa Jepang Stasiun Rangkasbitung dijadikan sebagai alat transportasi untuk membawa hasil bumi berupa tambang batu bara dan emas untuk keperluan perang. | |||||||||
