Abstract

Indonesia is listed as the country with the sixth largest greenhouse gas emissions in the world, contributing around 4.47% of total global emissions. Education has a strategic role in building students' awareness and skills to understand and overcome environmental problems. One relevant approach is green and sustainable chemistry. However, existing lessons do not integrate the principles of green and sustainable chemistry and do not support students' science process skills which are still relatively low. Therefore, this study aims to develop a green and sustainable chemistry based textbook on the topic of carbon footprints that cause global warming to improve students' science process skills. The method in this study used an R&D research design with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collection techniques were conducted through literature studies, interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The teaching book validation method uses Aiken's V index 0.79 on the material and media of the teaching book which is validated by 6 validators. Textbooks that were declared valid were tested on 36 X grade high school students who used the independent curriculum. The results show that the developed coursebook contains material components, supporting components such as animated videos, additional reading materials, images, and components of the science process skills aspect, the coursebook is declared valid with an average validity of the material aspect of 0.95 and the media aspect of 0.95 and the results of students' responses of 87% are categorized as very good. From the results of observations, evaluations, and student responses, it shows that the textbooks developed can support students' science process skills. Thus, the Teaching Book has met the valid criteria and is suitable for use in learning and can improve students' science process skills

Pendidikan memiliki peran strategis dalam membangun kesadaran dan keterampilan siswa untuk memahami serta mengatasi permasalahan lingkungan. Salah satu pendekatan yang relevan adalah green and sustainable chemistry. Namun, pembelajaran yang ada kurang mengintegrasikan prinsip green and sustainable chemistry dan kurang pendukung keterampilan proses sains siswa yang masih tergolong rendah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar berbasis green and sustainable chemistry pada topik jejak karbon penyebab pemanasan global untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian R&D dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi literatur, wawancara, observasi, dan angket. Metode validasi buku ajar menggunakan indeks Aiken’s V 0,79 terhadap materi dan media Buku Ajar yang divalidasi oleh 6 validator. Buku ajar yang dinyatakan valid diujicobakan kepada 36 peserta didik kelas X SMA yang menggunakan kurikulum merdeka. Hasil menunjukkan buku ajar yang dikembangkan memuat komponen materi, kompenen pendukung seperti video animasi, bahan bacaan tambahan, gambar gambar, dan komponen aspek keterampilan proses sains, buku ajar dinyatakan valid dengan rata-rata validitas aspek materi sebesar 0,95 dan aspek media sebesar 0,95 dan hasil respon peserta didik sebesar 87% dikategorikan sangat baik. Dari hasil observasi, evaluasi, dan respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar yang dikembangkan dapat mendukung keterampilan proses sains siswa. Dengan demikian, Buku Ajar telah memenuhi kriteria valid dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran serta dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa
