Abstract

The motivation of this study is the problem that the creative thinking ability of junior high school students is still relatively low. One effort that can be done is the application of learning innovation with the contextual teaching and learning model and context-based teaching materials. Referring to the problem and how to overcome it, a study was conducted that aims to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model on creative thinking used by students to learn science in junior high schools. This study is a quasi-experimental study using a non-equivalent control group design. This study involved all students in class VII MTs Negeri 1 Serang, which consists of 10 classes. Random sampling was used to determine the sample for this study, Class VII A was used as the experimental group and Class VII E was used as the control group. the experimental group used the Contextual Teaching Learning model and the control group used the Discovery Learning model. Data collection techniques are: (1) Descriptive question tests of creative thinking skills, and (2) non-tests in the form of observations of creative thinking abilities. Students' ability to think and create is measured by a written test instrument in the form of essay questions made according to creative thinking indicators that have been adjusted as many as ten questions have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the study showed that the experimental class with the Contextual Teaching Learning model and the control class with the Discovery Learning model were distributed abnormally. Hypothesis testing was carried out by test, and the level of relevance was based on the results of the Pretest and Posttest. In conclusion, the Contextual Teaching Learning Model influences the creative thinking of grade VII students about the polluted environment.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dengan adanya permasalahan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP masih tergolong rendah. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah penerapan inovasi pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning dan bahan ajar berbasis konteks. Mengacu pada masalah dan bagaimana cara mengatasinya, dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning pada pemikiran kreatif yang digunakan siswa untuk belajar sains di sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi-eksperimental yang menggunakan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Penelitian ini melibatkan semua siswa di kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Serang, yang terdiri dari 10 kelas. Pengambilan sampel secara acak digunakan untuk menentukan sampel untuk penelitian ini, Kelas VII A digunakan sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan Kelas VII E digunakan sebagai kelompok kontrol. kelompok eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching Learning dan kelompok kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Teknik pengambilan data yaitu: (1) Tes pertanyaan deskriptif kemampuan berpikir kreatif, dan (2) non-tes berupa dalam bentuk pengamatan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Kemampuan siswa untuk berpikir dan berkreasi diukur dengan instrumen tes tertulis berupa soal esai dibuat sesuai dengan indikator berpikir kreatif yang telah disesuaikan sebanyak sepuluh pertanyaan telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen dengan model Contextual Teaching Learning dan kelas kontrol dengan model Discovery Learning didistribusikan tidak normal. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan oleh test, dan tingkat relevan didasarkan pada hasil Pretest dan Posttest. Kesimpulannya, Model Pembelajaran Contextual Teaching Learning mempengaruhi pemikiran kreatif siswa kelas VII tentang lingkungan yang tercemar.
