Abstract

The application of brain gym to children aged 5-6 years aims to support cognitive, motor and emotional development in the early stages of life. Brain gym consists of a series of physical exercises designed to stimulate brain function, improve concentration, coordination and gross motor skills in children. When children reach the age of 5-6 years, children's brain development is very rapid, so activities or activities that involve body movement can strengthen their learning and interaction abilities. This research examines the application of brain gym in improving focus, social abilities and motor skills of children at pre-school age. The results show that brain gym can help improve brain balance, facilitate more stable emotional development, and support children's readiness to face future learning challenges. The implementation of a structured and routine brain gym has been proven to improve the quality of children's development holistically.

Additional Information: Brain gym (senam otak) terdiri dari serangkaian latihan fisik yang dirancang untuk merangsang fungsi otak, meningkatkan konsentrasi, koordinasi, serta keterampilan motorik kasar pada anak. Saat memasuki usia 5-6 tahun perkembangan otak anak sangat pesat, sehingga aktivitas atau kegiatan yang melibatkan gerakan tubuh dapat memperkuat kemampuan belajar dan berinteraksi. Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan brain gym dalam meningkatkan fokus, kemampuan sosial, dan keterampilan motorik anak-anak pada usia pra-sekolah. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa brain gym dapat membantu meningkatkan keseimbangan otak, memfasilitasi perkembangan emosi yang lebih stabil, serta mendukung kesiapan anak dalam menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran di masa depan. Penerapan brain gym yang terstruktur dan rutin terbukti dapat meningkatkan kualitas perkembangan anak secara holistic.
