Abstract
Rice is the main agricultural commodity in Indonesia. However, information related to the diversity local rice is still relatively low. This research aims to determine the diversity of local rice in Banten Province. Samples were collected in two districts of Banten Province, namely Serang and Lebak. Plants were identified based on their morphological 10 characters. In total, 9 local rice has been identified; Kewal Putih Rice, Kewal Hideung Rice, Ketan Cae Rice, Guling Rice, Siang Rice, Ketan Langgasari Rice, Limar Rice, Cokrom Rice, and Ketan Ruyung Rice . The implementation of this research on education was done by creating an encyclopedia that can be used as a source of learning for 10 th -grade students on the concept of biodiversity. The validity value of the encyclopedia is 98,9% indicates that the encyclopedia could be used as a learning resource. Keywords: Banten, Diversity, Encyclopedia, Local Rice, Morphology

| Additional Information: | Padi merupakan komoditas utama pertanian di Indonesia. Namun, informasi terkadiversitas padi lokal masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui diversitas padi lokal di Provinsi Banten. Pengambilan sampeldilakukan di dua kabupaten yaitu Kabupaten Serang dan Lebak. Tanaman padiidentifikasi berdasarkan 10 karakter morfologinya. Total ada 9 padi lokal Bantenyang telah diidentifikasi yaitu Padi Lokal Kewal Putih, Padi Kewal Hideung, PKetan Cae, Padi Guling, Padi Siang, Padi Ketan Langgasari, Padi Limar, PCokrom, dan Padi Ketan Ruyung. Implementasi dari penelitian ini terhadapendidikan dengan membuat ensiklopedia yang dapat dijadikan sumber belajasiswa kelas X pada konsep keanekaragaman hayati. Nilai validasi terhadaensiklopedia sebesar 98,9% menunjukan bahwa ensiklopedia tersebut dadigunakan sebagai sumber belajar.
