Abstract
This research aims to determine developments the traditional art of Silat Cimande in Lightning Village, Lightning Sub-district Serang Banten district in 1990-2010. The method used in this research is the historical method, includes heuristics (data collection), source criticism, interpretation and historiography the analysis of this research uses the symbolic interactionism theory of Herbert Blumer for critical analisys of the symbolic meaning contained in the Cimande Silat series the results of the research show that the general description of the geografhical conditions of life of the lightning Village community consists of areas agriculture so that the majority of people work as farmers, the background for the birth of Cimande Silat it was first created by Eyang Khaer who is an important figure in the world of Cimande Silat.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan kesenian tradisional Silat Cimande yang berada di Desa Petir Kecamatan Petir Kabupaten Serang Banten Tahun 1990-2010. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode sejarah, meliputi heuristik (pengumpulan data), kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Adapun analisis penelitian ini menggunakan teori interaksionisme simbolik dari Herbert Blumer untuk analisis kritis mengenai makna simbolik yang terkandung pada rangkaian Silat Cimande. hasil penelitian bahwa gambaran umum kondisi geografis kehidupan masyarakat Desa Petir termasuk ke bagian yang agraris sehingga mayoritas masyarakat bekerja sebagai Buruh. Latar belakang lahirnya Silat Cimande diciptakan pertama kali oleh Eyang Khaer. | |||||||||
