Abstract

Mangroves are one of the coastal ecosystems that are in the transition zone between land and water. The existence of mangroves is very important to prevent climate change and maintain coastal ecosystems. One of the efforts to maintain the existence of mangroves by rehabilitating or replanting. Mangrove planting in Cigorondong Village in order to increase the success rate needs to be done maintenance in the form of monitoring its growth. The purpose of this study is to measure the success of mangrove growth and determine the characteristics of mangrove sediments Rhizophora sp species in Cigorondong Village. This study used 5 stations with random sampling of 50 seedlings per station, taking environmental parameters (temperature, pH, salinity) and sediment samples of 500 g per station. The results showed that the highest percentage of survival was at station 3 by 62%, the highest height growth rate was at station 1 by 1.54 cm/month, the highest diameter growth rate was at station 3 by 0.58 mm/month, and the highest rate of increase in the number of leaves was at stations 1 and 3 by 2 strands/month. Sediment characteristics at station 1 in the form of dusty clay loam, at stations 2, 3, 4 in the form of dusty loam and at station 5 in the form of sandy loam. Environmental parameters include temperature ranging from 30.7-31.7°C, pH ranging from 8-8.2 and salinity ranging from 29.2-31.5%₀. The correlation between growth rate and sediment is the highest value in diameter growth rate with sediment of 0.597 in the medium relationship category and the correlation between growth rate and environmental parameters is the highest value in high growth rate with pH of -0.858 in the very strong relationship category.

Additional Information: Mangrove merupakan salah satu ekosistem pesisir yang berada pada zona peralihan antara daratan dan perairan. Keberadaan mangrove sangat penting untuk mencegah perubahan iklim dan menjaga ekosistem pesisir. Salah satu upaya untuk menjaga keberadaan mangrove dengan cara melakukan rehabilitasi atau penanaman kembali. Penanaman mangrove di Desa Cigorondong agar meningkatkan tingkat keberhasilan perlu dilakukan pemeliharaan berupa memonitoring pertumbuhannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur keberhasilan pertumbuhan mangrove dan mengetahui karakteristik sedimen mangrove jenis Rhizophora sp yang ada di Desa Cigorondong. Penelitian ini menggunakan 5 stasiun dengan pengambilan sampel secara random sampling sebanyak 50 bibit perstasiun, pengambilan parameter lingkungan (suhu, pH, salinitas) dan sampel sedimen sebanyak 500 g perstasiun. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase hidup tertinggi ada pada stasiun 3 sebesar 62%, laju pertumbuhan tinggi tertinggi ada pada stasiun 1 sebesar 1,54 cm/bulan, laju pertumbuhan diameter tertinggi ada pada stasiun 3 sebesar 0,58 mm/bulan, dan laju pertambahan jumlah daun tertinggi ada pada stasiun 1 dan 3 sebanyak 2 helai/bulan. Karakteristik sedimen pada stasiun 1 berupa lempung liat berdebu, pada stasiun 2, 3, 4 berupa lempung berdebu dan pada stasiun 5 berupa lempung berpasir. Parameter lingkungan berupa suhu berkisar antara 30,7-31,7°C, pH berkisar antara 8-8,2 dan salinitas berkisar antara 29,2-31,5 %₀. Korelasi antara laju pertumbuhan dengan sedimen nilai tertinggi ada pada laju pertumbuhan diameter dengan sedimen sebesar 0,597 masuk kedalam kategori hubungan sedang dan korelasi antara laju pertumbuhan dengan parameter lingkungan nilai tertinggi ada pada laju pertumbuhan tinggi dengan pH sebesar -0,858 masuk kedalam kategori hubungan sangat kuat.
