Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Articulate Storyline 3 interactive learning media on historical thinking ability of class XII students in History subject at SMA Negeri 4 Pandeglang. The research method used in this research is quasi-experiment. Data were collected through purposive sample technique with class XII-5 as many as 40 students as the experimental class using Articulate Storyline 3 interactive learning media and class XII-1 as many as 40 students as the control class using YouTube video learning media. Historical thinking ability refers to four indicators Sam Wineburg, namely Thinking in context, chronology and continuity, ability to understand cause and effect and interpretation and evidence. The pre-research stage shows that the indicators of the ability to think historically are not shown by students when learning in class takes place, so an effort is needed so that these indicators can be met, based on this, Articulate Storyline 3 interactive learning media is used for learning history in class. The results of the study are as follows; there is an effect of Articulate Storyline 3 interactive learning media on the historical thinking ability of students, hypothesis testing through a two-party t-test there is an increase in students' historical thinking ability by obtaining a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 then Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, which means there is an increase in students' historical thinking skills in class XII history subjects at SMA Negeri 4 Pandeglang after using interactive learning media Articulate Storyline 3. There are two historical thinking skills that have the highest average student score of 93% on the ability to understand cause-and-effect and interpretation and evidence indicators. The fundamental difference between Articulate Storyline 3 interactive learning media and video learning media on YouTube lies in the level of interactivity and user involvement. Articulate Storyline 3 allows the development of learning content that not only contains static material, but also interactive features such as quizzes, simulations, and multimedia elements that can be customized to the needs of learners, providing a more personalized and in-depth learning experience. Meanwhile, YouTube videos are generally one-way, where learners only receive information without any way to interact or gauge student understanding directly.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran interaktif Articulate Storyline 3 terhadap kemampuan berpikir historis siswa kelas XII pada mata pelajaran Sejarah di SMA Negeri 4 Pandeglang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui teknik purposive sampel dengan kelas XII-5 sebanyak 40 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media pembelajaran interaktif Articulate Storyline 3 dan Kelas XII-1 sebanyak 40 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan media pembelajaran video YouTube. Kemampuan berpikir historis merujuk pada empat indikator menurut Wineburg, yaitu Berpikir dalam konteks, kronologi dan kesinambungan, kemampuan memahami sebab-akibat serta interpretasi dan bukti. Tahap pra penelitian menunjukan indikator kemampuan berpikir hisoris tidak ditunjukan oleh siswa pada saat pembelajaran di kelas berlangsung, sehingga dibutuhkan suatu upaya agar indikator tersebut bisa terpenuhi, berdasarkan hal tersebut di gunakanlah media pembelajaran interaktif Articulate Storyline 3 untuk pembelajaran sejarah di kelas. Adapun hasil penelitian sebagai berikut; terdapat pengaruh media pembelajaran interaktif Articulate Storyline 3 terhadap kemampuan berpikir historis peserta didik, pengujian hipotesis melalui uji-t dua pihak terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir historis siswa dengan memperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 maka Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak, yang artinya terjadi peningkatan terhadap kemampuan berpikir historis siswa pada mata pelajaran sejarah kelas XII di SMA Negeri 4 Pandeglang setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran interaktif Articulate Storyline 3. Dari empat indikator kemampuan berpikir historis, terdapat dua kemampuan berpikir historis yang memiliki nilai rata-rata siswa tertinggi yaitu 93% pada indikator kemampuan memahami sebab-akibat serta interpretasi dan bukti. Perbedaan mendasar antara media pembelajaran interaktif Articulate Storyline 3 dan media pembelajaran video di YouTube terletak pada tingkat interaktivitas dan keterlibatan pengguna. Articulate Storyline 3 memungkinkan pengembangan konten pembelajaran yang tidak hanya berisi materi statis, tetapi juga fitur-fitur interaktif seperti kuis, simulasi, dan elemen multimedia yang dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan peserta didik, memberikan pengalaman pembelajaran yang lebih personal dan mendalam. Sementara itu, video YouTube umumnya bersifat satu arah, dimana peserta didik hanya menerima informasi tanpa ada cara untuk berinteraksi atau mengukur pemahaman siswa secara langsung.
