Abstract
Human Resources (HR) are a strategic asset that plays a crucial role in a company's success. One of the efforts to improve HR quality is through training programs, particularly Technical Training, which aims to enhance employee competence. This study seeks to examine the impact of training on competence and employee performance, the influence of competence on employee performance, and the role of competence as an intervening variable in a Paper Company. The research methods include both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The qualitative analysis is based on the development of questionnaire statements and improvement proposals using the PDCA and Gap Analysis methods, while data processing employs Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that training has a positive and significant impact on competence (Path Coefficient = 0.600) and employee performance (Path Coefficient = 0.500). Competence also has a significant effect on employee performance (Path Coefficient = 0.413) and serves as an intervening variable with a Path Coefficient value of 0.248, with all P-Values at 0.000. This study recommends evaluating and improving training programs to support the enhancement of employee performance.

Additional Information: | Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) merupakan aset strategis yang berperan penting dalam keberhasilan perusahaan. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas SDM adalah melalui program pelatihan, khususnya Technical Training yang bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi karyawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan terhadap kompetensi dan kinerja karyawan, kompetensi terhadap kinerja karyawan, serta peran kompetensi sebagai variabel intervening pada Perusahaan Kertas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan mencakup analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif, penelitian kualitatif didasarkan pada proses pembuatan pernyataan kuesioner dan usulan perbaikan dengan metode PDCA dan Gap Analysis dengan pengolahan data menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pelatihan memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kompetensi (Path Coefficient = 0,600) dan kinerja karyawan (Path Coefficient = 0,500). Kompetensi juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan (Path Coefficient = 0,413) sekaligus berperan sebagai variabel intervening dengan nilai Path Coefficient sebesar 0,248 dengan keseluruhan nilai P-Values adalah 0,000. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan evaluasi dan perbaikan pada program pelatihan guna mendukung peningkatan kinerja karyawan. | |||||||||
