Abstract
The Internet is the result of technological advances that have had a considerable impact on aspects of life. The emergence of the Online gambling phenomenon is increasingly rampant in Indonesia, especially in the Grogol Petamburan region of West Jakarta. This research aims to analyse the legal awareness of citizens towards article 27 Paragraph 2 of the Electronic Information and Transaction Act (UU ITE) in eradicating online gambling crimes. Research is carried out with Qualitative methods and descriptive approaches, with researchers as the main instrument. The research location is focussed on Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta. During the period of July to October 2024. Data collection through interview, observation and documentation methods. Data validity using triangulation techniques and sources. The research results show that the level of legal awareness of citizens towards article 27 Paragraph 2 of the ITE Law is still low, while law enforcement encounters various challenges, including limited resources and the complexity of technology used by online gamblers. This research found that the successful implementation of article 27 paragraph 2 of the ITE Law is greatly influenced by the cooperation between the community, law enforcement officers and the government in increasing legal awareness and supervision of online gambling activities. This research is expected to contribute to the prevention and handling of online gambling crimes in Indonesia.

| Additional Information: | Internet merupakan hasil dari kemajuan teknologi telah membawa dampak yang cukup besar bagi aspek kehidupan. Kemunculan fenomena perjudian Online semakin marak di Indonesia, khususnya di wilayah Grogol Petamburan Jakarta Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesadaran hukum warga negara terhadap pasal 27 Ayat 2 Undang-Undang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (UU ITE) dalam memberantas tindak pidana perjudian online. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode Kualitatif dan pendekatan deskriptif, dengan peneliti sebagai instrumen utama. Lokasi penelitian berfokus di Grogol Petamburan, Jakarta Barat. Selama periode Juli hingga Oktober 2024. Pengumpulan data melalui metode wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Validitas data menggunakan triangulasi teknik dan sumber. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat kesadaran hukum warga negara terhadap pasal 27 Ayat 2 UU ITE masih rendah, Sementara penegakan hukum mendapati berbagai tantangan, termasuk keterbatasan sumber daya dan kompleksitas teknologi yang digunakan oleh pelaku perjudian online. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa keberhasilan implementasi pasal 27 ayat 2 UU ITE sangat dipengaruhi oleh kerjasama antara masyarakat, aparat penegak hukum dan pemerintah dalam meningkatkan kesadaran hukum serta pengawasan terhadap aktivitas perjudian online. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam upaya pencegahan dan penanganan tindak pidana perjudian online di Indonesia. | |||||||||
