Abstract
The comet goldfish (Carassius auratus) is popular for its color and shape. Color brightness affects its market value, and color fading is a problem. Teak leaves, containing anthocyanins, β-carotene, and chlorophyll, can be used as a natural dye and antioxidant. This study was conducted from February to April 2024. The fish were reared at the Aquaculture Laboratory, Department of Fisheries Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The study employed an experimental method with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Adding teak leaf extract at different doses to the feed can improve and maintain the color brightness of comet goldfish. The addition of 10-15 ml/kg teak leaf extract produced the best color compared to other treatments, with a total carotenoid test result of 10,258.78 ppm/100 ml. The color quality results showed an average score of 6.17 ± 0.13, color variation on the body at 60.2 ± 1.4%, at the base of the tail 48.99 ± 0.43%, and at the head 47.11 ± 0.94%, with the highest number of chromatophore cells being 95.0 ± 9.6 cells.

Additional Information: | Ikan komet (Carassius auratus) terkenal karena warna dan bentuknya. Kecerahan warna mempengaruhi nilai pasarnya, dan pemudaran warna menjadi masalah. Daun jati yang mengandung antosianin, β-karoten, dan klorofil dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pewarna alami dan antioksidan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai dengan April 2024. Ikan dipelihara di Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan Jurusan Ilmu Perikanan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Penambahan ekstrak daun jati dengan dosis berbeda pada pakan dapat meningkatkan dan menjaga kecerahan warna ikan mas komet. Penambahan ekstrak daun jati sebanyak 10-15 ml/kg menghasilkan warna yang paling baik dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya, dengan hasil uji total karotenoid sebesar 10.258,78 ppm/100 ml. Hasil kualitas warna menunjukkan skor rata-rata 6,17±0,13, variasi warna pada badan 60,2±1,4%, pangkal ekor 48,99±0,43%, dan kepala 47,11±0,94%, dengan jumlah sel kromatofor terbanyak yaitu 95,0±9,6 sel. | |||||||||
