Abstract

Goldfish is one type of freshwater fish that has excellent cultivation prospects. The obstacles commonly faced in aquaculture activities are low survival rates and relatively slow fish growth. The low survival rate of carp larvae is due to the nutritional content not meeting the needs of the larvae. Efforts can be made to produce good quality Sinyonya carp larvae by increasing the consumption of Daphnia sp. as a natural feed enriched with taurine. This study aimed to evaluate taurine's effectiveness in Daphnia sp. with different doses that are expected to increase the survival and growth of Sinyonya carp larvae. This study used an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replicates. The treatment was determined based on different doses of taurine, namely 0 mg/L, 10 mg/L, 25 mg/L, and 45 mg/L. The enrichment of Daphnia sp. using taurine gave a significantly different effect (P<0.05) on the growth of Sinyonya carp larvae. The highest significance value was found in treatment C with a taurine dose of 25 mg/L. The use of taurine in the enrichment of Daphnia sp. at a dose of 25 mg/L, was able to increase the protein content of Daphnia sp. and Sinyonya carp larvae by 5.17 ± 0.06 % and 8.27 ± 0.03 %, giving an absolute length of 1.28 ± 0.02 cm, absolute weight of 0.339 ± 0.007 g, specific length growth rate of 3.73 ± 0.06 %, specific weight growth rate of 15.96 ± 0.147 %, and survival rate of 60.45 ± 1.68 %. The results of observations regarding the width of the mouth opening of Sinyonya carp larvae produced the highest value in treatment C, with a value of 0.79 mm.

Additional Information: Ikan mas merupakan salah satu jenis ikan air tawar yang memiliki prospek budidaya yang sangat baik. Kendala yang biasa dihadapi dalam kegiatan budidaya adalah tingkat kelangsungan hidup yang rendah dan pertumbuhan ikan yang relatif lambat. Rendahnya tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva ikan mas disebabkan oleh kandungan nutrien yang tidak memenuhi kebutuhan larva. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk menghasilkan larva ikan mas Sinyonya yang berkualitas baik adalah dengan meningkatkan konsumsi Daphnia sp. sebagai pakan alami yang diperkaya dengan taurin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas taurin pada Daphnia sp. dengan dosis yang berbeda yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan larva ikan mas Sinyonya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Perlakuan ditentukan berdasarkan dosis taurin yang berbeda, yaitu 0 mg/L, 10 mg/L, 25 mg/L, dan 45 mg/L. Pengayaan Daphnia sp. dengan menggunakan taurin memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan larva ikan mas Sinyonya. Nilai signifikansi tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan C dengan dosis taurin 25 mg/L. Penggunaan taurin dalam pengayaan Daphnia sp. dengan dosis 25 mg/L, mampu meningkatkan kandungan protein larva ikan mas Sinyonya sebesar 5,17 ± 0,06% dan 8,27 ± 0,03%. 03 %, memberikan panjang mutlak sebesar 1,28 ± 0,02 cm, berat mutlak sebesar 0,339 ± 0,007 g, laju pertumbuhan panjang spesifik sebesar 3,73 ± 0,06 %, laju pertumbuhan berat spesifik sebesar 15,96 ± 0,147 %, dan sintasan sebesar 60,45 ± 1,68 %. Hasil pengamatan mengenai lebar bukaan mulut larva ikan mas Sinyonya menghasilkan nilai tertinggi pada perlakuan C, dengan nilai 0,79 mm.
