Abstract
The first communication in a child's life is obtained from parents. Parents play an important role in the development of children's lives by creating children who are not afraid of falling, who don't give up easily, who create a sense of security, a positive attitude and self-confidence. However, in the current era which has entered the era of globalization many things have changed. Both in terms of educational patterns, and in terms of parents' mindset. From this phenomenon, researchers studied the influence of interpersonal communication between parents and children in building children's self-confidence in SMAN 1 Serang City students. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods supported by attribution theory. The results of this research show a correlation value of 0.391, which means that interpersonal communication between parents and children (X) and the student self-confidence level variable (Y) have a low relationship. This is confirmed by the calculation of the coefficient of determination that variable Based on the results of this research, it was concluded that there was an influence of parent-child interpersonal communication on the level of self-confidence of class XI students at SMAN 1 Serang City.

| Additional Information: | Komunikasi pertama dalam kehidupan seorang anak yakni didapatkan dari orang tua. Orang tua berperan penting bagi perkembangan dalam hidup anak untuk menciptakan anak dengan sikap tidak takut jatuh, tidak mudah menyerah, menimbulkan rasa aman, sikap positif, serta percaya diri. Namun, pada era kini yang telah memasuki masa era globalisasi banyak merubah banyak hal. Baik dari segi pola didik, maupun secara pola pikir orang tua. Dari fenomena ini, peneliti mengkaji bagaimana pengaruh komunikasi interpersonal antar orang tua dan anak dalam membangun percaya diri anak terhadap siswa SMAN 1 Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei yang didukung dengan teori antar pribadi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,391 yang berarti Komunikasi Intepersonal Orang Tua dan Anak (X) dengan variabel Tingkat Kepercayaan Diri Siswa (Y) memiliki hubungan yang rendah. Hal ini dipertegas dengan perhitungan koefisien determinasi bahwa variabel X terhadap variabel Y berpengaruh sebesar 15,3%, sementara 84,7% lainnya merupakan faktor yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut disimpulkan bahwa terdapat adanya pengaruh komunikasi interpersonal orang tua anak terhadap tingkat kepercayaan diri siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Kota Serang. | |||||||||
