Abstract
This study is based on the low mathematical problem solving ability of students. One of the factors that causes low mathematical problem solving ability of students is the use inappropriate learning models and lack of confidence in students. One learning model that can help is the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model. By implementing this learning model, students will be trained in open discussions that create interactions so that students are better able to think critically to solve existing problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the STAD type cooperative learning model and Self-efficacy on students’ mathematical problem solving ability. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Rangkasbitung. The method used is a experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample in this study amounted to 50 students from eight grade students selected through cluster random sampling. The data for this study were obtained through a mathematical problem-solving ability test and student self-efficacy questionnaire data. The results of this study reveal that the STAD type cooperative learning model has a positive effect on problem-solving ability. However, self-efficacy has no effect on mathematical problem-solving ability, in line with the absence of interaction between the learning model and self-efficacy with mathematical problem solving ability.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada siswa. Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat dan kurangnya keyakinan dalam diri siswa. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat membantu yaitu model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). Dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran tersebut, siswa akan terlatih dalam diskusi secara terbuka yang membuat adanya interaksi sehingga siswa lebih mampu dalam berpikir secara kritis untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang ada. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan Self-efficacy terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Rangkasbitung. Metode yang digunakan yaitu experimental design dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 50 siswa kelas VIII yang dipilih melalui cluster random sampling. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis serta data angket self-efficacy siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Tetapi self-efficacy tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, sejalan dengan tidak adanya interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan self-efficacy dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. | |||||||||
